I am a passionate political geek who reads the economist, mother jones, and The Nation. I love Charlie Rose, "The situation Room" and Meet the Press. Maybe one day I'll be the next Maureen Dowd. (For those of you who are too self absorbed to pick up a newspaper that doesnt have an entertainment section, she's writer for the New York times who esthetically gorgeous). I loooooove Brasil!!!! the most beautiful country in the world. Not only visually but the most open minded and friendliest people. My state of Minas Gerais is known for beautiful women, great food, and family oriented people. i am blessed and lucky to have a supportive crazy family (think my big fat greek wedding). I can't count my true, best friends on 2 hands. There's to many. If i could eat watermelon everyday, all day, for the rest of my life i would. I want to one day retire and retreat in Palma de Mallorca. Siesta baby. i loooove to nap.

Music:

I love jams bands. Dave Matthews band, jack johnson, goo goo dolls, john mayor, silverchair, coldplay, u2, sitting at home listening to Formica Blues by MONO . Amy winehouse's back to Black is the album of the year, and the soundtrack to my life. Royksopp, Bloc party, The boy Least Likely To, Cake, Cat Powers, Frente!, jamiroquai, Lily Allen, lisa Loeb, R.E.M, Red hot Chilli peppers, oasis, smashing Pumpkins, Esthero has the most remarkable voice ever (check her myspace), Robin thickes first album was definately grammy worthy, its called A BEAUTIFUL WORLD and my favorite song is Stupid Things. Handsome Boy modeling School, Hot Chip. Im really into Peter Bjorn And John-gotta love Young folks. i think im Simon ad garfunkels biggest fan. elton john!!!! john legend. beach boys- god only nows is a brilliantly written song. But I also love bossa nova, and Zizi posse, and the Baoba orchestra from senegal is aaaaamazing. Carmen consolli from italy, her album Stato di Necessita is crazzzzy good. Movies:

Im a documentary geek. I loved THE TAKE, who killed the electric car, inconvenient truth, OUTFOXED, mardi Gras: made in china. I dont like cheesy commercialized movies, or special effects. i 'm a dialogue girl all the way. Not a script girl...a dialogue girl. Think clerks, mallrats, chasing amy, old skool. and most recently Little miss sunshine...hilarious

Television:

The shows worth watching on t.v Daily Show with john stewart, Real time with Bill Maher, colbert report, situation room, lou dobbs, and meet the press on cnn. Arrested development dvd's, weeds, entourage, THE OFFICE and 30 rock

Books:

recently finished the end of poverty, now onto parliment of whores (and its not a sex book!!) I love Pride and Prejudice, every time i read it ,even knowing the outcome, I get anxious is Elizabeth going to end up with Mr, Darcy?? I know its stupid. I hate cheesy romance novels. I cringe at novels by Danielle Steele, Stephen King and such. I need something worth of stimulation. Unfortunately the real world we live in today, doesnt offer the luxury of time to daydream. we need to wake up and pick up an Economist, or Time, or Newsweek even. Also Confessions of an economic Hitman, you'll become outraged at our government tactics at prowling on weeker countries
