Bukowski's LA

BUKOWSKI'S LA is a new book by Matt Dukes Jordan, author of the art book Weirdo Deluxe.......... It will be available in mid-June on Amazon.com and in select bookstores... and it will feature not only an annotated list of important places in Bukowski's life and work, but also a comic strip by the author about Buk, photos, drawings, a discussion of Buk and LA, poems, and an preface by Bukowski's pal, the poet and Buk biographer, Neeli Cherkoveski....... and more................For Buk, LA was central to his work, and this book will explore the dynamic between Buk and the city.....and provide a guidebook for those who live in LA or are visiting and want to see some key locations in Buk's life.....................Bukowski acknowledged how important Los Angeles was to his writing and admitting that it was one of his favorite subjects. In an interview in London magazine in 1974, he said, “You live in a town all your life, and you get to know every bitch on the street corner and half of them you have already messed around with. You’ve got the layout of the whole land. You have a picture of where you are. … Since I was raised in L.A., I’ve always had the geographical and spiritual feeling of being here. I’ve had time to learn this city. I can’t see any other place than L.A.”
