About Me
KESAN - Tha Youngest in Charge -
Atlanta based rapper KESAN is considered by many to be the most relevant underage MC since a young Todd Smith (L.L.Cool J) took the game by storm over two decades ago. His rare combination of charisma, street knowledge and lyrical prowess distinguish him as one of hip-hops most promising new superstars.KESAN manages to do so effortlessly what many seasoned mcs have yet to master. His natural flow and innate confidence make you believe unequivocally in every word he spits. With influences from his up top roots and a country boy grammar, the east seamlessly joins forces with the south in this prodigy MC. His universal sound is automatic and fresh, and it all just sounds as if it were meant to be. With his clever metaphors, distinct delivery and melodic hooks KESAN already knows what it takes to assemble a hit record. Add to that a natural charm, a love for the ladies and a wisdom that exceeds well beyond his years, and you get one hip hop icon in the making.KESAN was born Markice Moore in New Brunswick, NJ just around the time that hip-hop was entering its formative years. Forced to grow up fast, KESAN took responsibility for his own survival at a disturbingly young age. Mentored by the streets, he absorbed everything around him as he tagged alongside the much older and experienced neighborhood celebrities. Before dropping out of high school, KESAN was sleeping in recording studios using music as an outlet to channel his energy and to escape the harsh realities of his environment. Along the way, he developed an ability that won him many a street corner rap battle against much more mature competitors. Networking came easily to the charismatic young rapper and it wasnt long before he began connecting with the movers and shakers of the hip-hop industry. After doing some writing for a couple of undisclosed MCs, KESAN got his first taste of the limelight when he was hand picked by R&B superstar Ginuwine to rap on the hit single In Those Jeans during an appearance on BETs 106th & Park. It was at this moment that the KESAN knew that hip hop was his calling and that he would do whatever it took to answer back.Three years later, KESAN took a chance; hustling up just enough money for a trip to atlanta. Deep in his conviction, and perhaps a bit naïve, KESAN told his father and step-mother he was going to ATL to make a music career. His final destination was Atlanta, drawn there by the hope of new opportunities, a fresh start and a chance to realize his dreams. Not knowing where his ultimate fate would lie, KESANs first year in Atlanta was challenging to say the least. With limited resources and even fewer contacts, he reverted back to survival mode doing whatever it took to maintain. In the midst of this, KESAN never let go of what he knew was in the cards for him, it was just a matter of holding on a little bit longer.Soon after, word quickly began to spread about the young rapper from up north, with the swagger and skill far beyond his years. Before he knew it, KESAN found himself collaborating with the likes of Killa Mike, Too Short, Erick Sermon, Keith Sweat, Loon, Tragedy Kadafi, The Ying Yang Twins, and AKON to name just a few.Despite the initial buzz and a few early tastes of local celebrity, KESAN still struggled to find a situation that was behind him with the kind of urgency and he knew he deserved.A natural in front of the camera, Kesan also began honing his skills as an actor with a lead role in the Dallas Austin produced television pilot, Coming Up Roses currently being shopped at major networks. From there came a supporting role in the feature film ATL starring T.I. and Antwan 'Big Boi' Patton and directed by Chris Robinson, where KESAN played a young cousin to Big Bois character. With a DJ-Nice produced mixtape bubbling in the streets, as well as an APPHILIATES hosted mixtape in the streets. Appropriately titled," Tha Youngest In Charge", KESAN has already enlisted support from a slew of production heavyweights, from Don Vito (Jagged Edge, Trillville) to the legendary DJ Toomp. Toomp is one of the driving forces behind TIs success including the most recent smash single "What You Know" helping the King of the South sell over half a million records in his first week. After KESANs first session with the legendary DJ/producer, Toomp offered his stamp of approval proclaiming without hesitation, "This dude is a star."With additional production from Amadeus, Chad West (Young Gunz, TI) and up and comer Ced L. Young, along with collaborations with Akon, Killa Mike, Lloyd, Jovan Dais & Princess of Crime Mob, Tha Youngest in Charge is already shaping up to be a monumental release. Even with the big name support, KESAN remains the central force behind Tha Youngest in Charge, flossing a lyricism and style thats all his own. The lead single Flip U A Bird featuring Killa Mike, has already garnered an overwhelming buzz on the streets with only minimal push. An undeniable anthem, "Flip U A Bird" delivers bounce and credibility all in one dose, making it a sure bet in the clubs and far beyond.Undoubtedly, Tha Youngest in Charge will prove just that, shining a much deserved light on a young MC who has already poured a lifetime of blood, sweat and tears into what has always been his calling. Stay tuned, as KESAN has arrived! And the game will officially never be the same. JERSEY STAND THE FUCK UP!
