Not alot of people love music like I do. I say that not with the intent of sounding indignant, but out of sheer fact. A banging beat is great, and a serious bassline is always a plus, but that is not all that music should be. It should symbolize so much more. Music has always been a method, especially in the black community to express thoughts and feelings.Music is such a powerful entity, and I don't believe that people have a full understanding of what it can do. Music is a freedom of expression that not many people utilize correctly. That is what I try to do in my music. There are so many issues going on in the world that need to be addressed, and I feel music provides that forum for me to speak my piece. I'm a very versatile MC and I take pride in that. I'm far from one dimensional. I'm that same dude telling you about the block and in the very next song, I'm telling you why the war in Iraq is unjust.Hip Hop in its true essence has always been something rebellious, however I believe that the music we have today is a far cry from what it used to be. Hip Hop has become so commercial and by it becoming so commercialized I feel that no one cares about getting their message across anymore. Everyone is just looking for that hit single to cash in on, their 15 minutes of fame. When you look back in time at groups such as Public Enemy and NWA, they knew very well that what they did and what they said would be confronted with scrutiny, but it didn't stop them from speaking their mind.
I'm spitting that music that people can relate to.
Issues within the black community. Issues within the United States. Issues that every person has to face at one point or another in their life, I touch on all of them.
The word is such a powerful weapon, and mine is going to affect alot of people, you can put money on that.I've been on the grind for a couple of years now, and I can honestly say that I'm getting better everyday. Poetry and writing was always something that I had a deep passion for, but it wasn't until the 7th grade that I started writing my first rhymes. It wasn't until my Junior year in High School that I recorded something for the first time. My boy Keon a.k.a. is really the one that got me into the game heavy by bringing me into the Black Ice Crew. It was a talent I knew I had, but he was the one that gave me that boost of confidence to pursue it. I'm always writing, I'm always working on my flow. I'm always trying to get better.
I've been building a buzz up for quite sometime now. I've performed at numerous venues, (Club Speed, Club Iguana, The Bunker, Polytechnic University etc) and now I got the whole world watching as I step up to the plate.
Best believe your boy is aiming for the fences.
