The Song Comes First

About Me

Behind Powerhouse Studio
you'll find ME :-). The songwriter, musician and producer Klaus Caprani.
On this page you'll find a selection of stuff I've produced and engineered.
Through my life-long experience
in playing with bands, I've aquired certain engineering skills and overall
musical outlook, on which I firmly base my current work as music producer.
I'm available
for inhouse sound-engineering tasks, as mix and mastering of your productions, and readily offer my services as producer/band doctor at your rehearsal facility, on the road or in the studio.
I've had several upgrading, intensive courses
in digital sound engineering techniques at Artlab in Copenhagen, and
subsequently have been contracted as sound-engineer at Kort & Dokumentar Filmskolen (Short & Documentary Filmschool), editing the soundtracks for multiple smaller productions.
Practical experience in music production from, among others, Sweet Silence studios adds to the mix.
On a more specific musical note
I recorded and edited Little Feat's concert at the Train in Aarhus in 2001,
which led to the piece "Voodoo Jam" ending up on their CD set
"Ripe & Raw Tomatos", besides having delivered primarily bass and
pedal steel guitar tracks to other producers, songwriters and recording artists.
For that event acoustic and electric guitar, barytone guitar, acoustic lap steel, slide, mandolin, 5-string banjo and ukulele are options as well
In my studio
I'm working primarily in Pro Tools with various outboard analog stuff. TL-Audio and Focusrite mic-Preamps, compressors and EQ's being the mainstay along with my trusted old silverface Deluxe Reverb for practically all electric guitar work.
