Latin Pop has a new face... Roman. Roman stormed into 2008 with an exciting and orginal Spanish-language EP and sexy music video. Roman's songs (originals and covers) have been played over 25,000 times on MySpace and all over the globe, featured as part of the musical selection of the 2007 NBA Playoffs, movie soundtracks, and remixed by the hottest L.A. DJs. With the talent of choreographer/dancer Marisa Aquino, Roman and his dancers took to the stage on an '08 promotional tour that kicked off in Long Beach at their Pride Festival. He's had an amazing journey thus far and is close to finally "making it". But...
ROMAN NEEDS YOUR HELP!!! Roman is back in the studio recording English material for a full-LP that will release Dec. 08/Jan. 09. As an unsigned artist, Roman self-funds recording time, rehearsal space, compensating choreographers/dancers, training, CD production, and general promotion. While his current dance/service gigs pay for the costly lifestyle of Los Angeles and Hollywood, one more big push of funds will carry him to the ultimate level -- successfully making a living from his music. And...
The generous giving of friends, family, and fans over the past several years enabled all of that he's been able to do. Now it's time for the final fund-raising as Roman aims to tackle the English pop/dance market, the Latin pop/dance market, and the LGBT music market simultaneously.
Below, you can make a contribution to the "Roman Recording Fund" in any amount you desire. While ALL contributions are greatly appreciated, all donations of $20 USD or more will be listed in Roman's thank-you section of the CD's he produces and will also -- as a thank you -- receive a copy of the original demo. He needs to raise $3,000-$5,000 by July 2008 to effectively underwrite new recorded English material, touring costs, and new PR materials. That's "public relations" and not "Puerto Rican"! ;-)
His official website www.romanonline.com is under construction and will re-launch in Winter 2008 with brand new images, info, and features.
MUSIC VIDEO FOR "SOLO EL PRINCIPIO":
The 2-minute mini-video for "Solo..." took place over two long night shoots in early September '07 with Hollywood fashion photographer Matthew Mitchell at the director's chair. The video was edited by Mr. Mitchell and his Director of Photography Evin Grant (of Embryonic Productions) and is NOW AVAILABLE to enjoy at the top of the page. Photos and blog from the shoot are in the photo gallery. A huge thank you to Matthew Mitchell and everyone who helped make this dream a reality. Look for a full-length version VERY SOON!
A full-length version of "Solo El Principio" will be released as a video remix by world-reknowned DJ Josh Peace and will feature even more footage from the music video shoot, rehearsals, performances, and candid moments. Josh Peace starts production on the remix in January '08.
