A native of Texas, San Antonio to be exact, Ben Franklin was surrounded by different genres of music from an early age. His mother, an accomplished Blues singer, taught Ben how to love and be inspired by the melody and the words. My mother played everything [in the house] maneverything from Bobby Womack to U2. Music was the food for our soul and life for our family.With the supportive backing of his mother, Ben started writing and producing his own music. Gospel and Southern Hip-Hop being the base, Ben Franklin conceives his own style incorporating the emotion of Gospel and the grit of Southern Hip-Hop. His unique sound encompasses every day situations and feelings, sharing them with others through his music. Vivid snapshots, the second heartbeat, and the nervous gut triggers the unsuspecting, unknowing ears.Pondering his next move to advance with his musical aspirations, Ben decided to learn all aspects of the business and earned his Associates Degree in Audio Engineering from Full Sail Recording Institute in Florida. While there, a fellow student suggested he move to Los Angeles for better opportunities. Using the world as his oyster, he packed his bags and headed west.Putting in the countless hours of hard work, as only a future legend could, soon paid off. With the collaboration, support, and inspiration of various new artists in the area Ben Franklin achieved his short-term goals. In 2004 Ben Franklin earned the Orange County Music Award for Best Song of The Year and Best R&B Album. Ben Franklin has performed with the legendary Ronald Isley, he has written and collaborated with the likes of Heather Headley, Mike Elizondo, and various producers and writers in the industry, and is currently writing music for the UPN television show, Girlfriends.Ben Franklin has devoted countless hours to perfecting his craft.
