For A Dear Investment the past year has been a rollercoaster ride. The release of the bands first E.P 'Skip A Beat / Run A Mile' in May 2006 gained the three-piece a whole new following of loyal fans of all ages. The five and a half track record, (owners of the c.d will know what we mean!) released by the bands own 'Ricepaper Records' features the single M H Cubed, which was available for download shortly before the release date. Also on the c.d are fan favourites 'A Lonely Man's Wish' and 'Mirror Image' as well as the heart-wrenching 'Endless, Tender, Broken, Beauty' and the enigmatically titled 'Eppikah'. Having remained a firm brick in the Midlands-scene wall, A Dear Investment have played shows all over the U.K to thousands of people.
Singer Mark Lee says ' We have plans for a new full-length record to be released sometime in the next year! We're tightening up the songs and our live performance and should be back with full force once we have all the demo's ready'. Guitarist Ryan Tyrrell also adds 'I'm really looking forward to getting back into the studio with our new tracks. Some of the melodies and licks Mark has been coming up with really compliment the riffs and beats myself and Ralph (drummer Ralph Nollet) have been working on. If the new record sounds anything like the way we are envisioning it, it's gonna blow you away!' 'We've been surprising our fans at our shows', says Ralph, 'by adding one or two of the newer tracks to our set. So far the response has been great, with songs like 'Age', 'Eyes On The Billboards' and 'What Do I Do?' getting the loudest cheers of the night'!
After a little over a year playing together as a three-piece with the current line-up, the band seem to have found their calling as one of the most promising rock acts to come out of the midlands in a long time. Catch them at a venue near you... soon! (Mark, Ryan and Ralph will all be drinking lager, maybe with a dash of lime unless they are feeling rather feminine in which case feel free to buy them a smirnoff ice each!)
