I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

My work is inspired by literature, old photographs, nature/environments and distant memory. My key signatures are composition, colour, light/dark, and dress pattern motifs which are a metaphor for the human body. There are two styles the first being abstract and coloured. I build on layers that resemble the passing of time which the act of painting is in itself a period over time that gives to space and depth. Once there is a satisfactory layering of space and depth to work on then the process of lost involvement occurs and the imagination is allowed to run deep into more complex structures. Seeking new landscapes for the imagination to develop and trying to find an ideal utopia within the image. Trying to grasp at a particular element or essence and yet not quite obtaining what one is looking for or feels. Mythical landscapes then arise out of the deepest sense and need for nature. To find that lost Eden.................The second style still using dress pattern motifs and playing with scale is more minimal by comparison. These are more about composition and tone for an atmospheric environment. It is as if they were having their photograph taken. These motifs are also treated in a more architectural way like skyscrapers when grouped together this then can be seen as an architectural landscape. As dress patterns are constructional pieces in their own right, we are the architecture of our own lives and of those around us. ...........................My work combines the sense of old ideals with the contemporary via Romantic philosophy, surrealist sensibilities and technical repetitive mark making which is created by listening to electronic and global music. The fine art of painting combined with graphic design details of mark making bring together my love for painting and drawing together.Tina donovan.........................Commissions accepted.................................................... ............................................................ ............................................................ the above statement refers to works developed during and since art school 2004-onwards................................................ ......................................................ARTIST S I LIKE

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

............................................................ ............................................................ ................people who love and people who care, people who have passion, people who have a love of knowledge...........Other arty folk who have a love of painting.......................Those who feel strongly against the injustices of this world and feel that it needs re-balancing in an harmonious way. ..........This space for me is more about meeting new people and hopefully to network with other creative souls. And to learn from some fascinating individuals. You know who you are! My main aim is to find new artists and to exchange helpful ideas and criticism too. And to admire the creations that people make.Being an artist is the best thing in the world. Would like to meet the whole world if I could. ......
