Vulgar Pang is a new gothic presence, a dark marriage of the past and present in a powerful sound that merges classic metal and rock with industrial flavors that echo such giants as Dio, Black Sabbath, Nine Inch Nails, System of a Down, and Tool.
Vulgar Pang was formed from the darkest reaches of the mind of Craig Hawkinson. Collaborating with producer/engineer/musician extraordinare Marc Golde of Rock Garden Studios in Appleton, WI, as well as top-notch area musicians Greg Thiel, Red Brown, Danny Jerabek, Steve Cooper, and Eric Harkoff, "Pleasure of Schizophrenia" was recorded and completed in October of 2005. The studio unit progressed into a live band experience with Hawkinson, Golde, Greg Thiel, and Ken Rodgers bringing to life a second CD, "The Memoirs of Don Juan Gacy", and a multimedia show which captures the emotion and essence of the music, as well as a raw power recalling the beasts of rock's glory days.
"...Vulgar Pang is heavy both lyrically and musically... adventurous... the music straddles the line between melody and abrasiveness."
- Steve Hyden, Appleton Post-Crescent
"Powerful stuff....The diversity is impressive."
- John Payne, Rick's Cafe
