The Glorious are a real band

About Me

MyGen Profile Generator MyGen Profile Generator MyGen Profile GeneratorThe history of the two founding members, David Jon Mather (vocals, guitar, piano) and Daniel Gard’ner (drums, backing vocals), stretches back to high school, where Gard’ner would occasionally fill the drummer’s stool for the bands that Mather was constantly starting. Shows were played, lessons were learnt, and the two got a taste for playing music together. That alliance has since been maintained in different forms over many years and several countries. In mid-2003 the two friends formed The Glorious to give life to the songs that Mather was writing seemingly without end. From the start, the songs had a richly melodic, widescreen scope that defined the project as something special. The line-up was completed when Tom Hoskins joined on bass in mid-2006.The sound of the band has reference points but is ultimately unique. Mather’s other-worldly vocals combine with classic song-craft to create a distinct world of melody and atmosphere that allows the band to exist in its own space.‘The Glorious’ EP is out now through MGM.The band are currently recording their debut album.
