Year Dot Winner 14/10/08

Meet Sam Eads
Meet Sam Eads, our lucky Year Dot winner who submitted a video entry about his own 'Year Dot' earlier in the year. Sam is 21 and studying a music degree at the University of Surrey. He has spent the last year teaching music and performing gigs with his band. His dream is to play guitar everyday for the rest of his life. He has been in touch with Sam Phripp, one of the Year Dot 15, and has promised him that if he makes it to Eurovision in 2009 he will play onstage with him!
Watch his winning video entry.

Jamal and Melissa's baby is born

Jamal
A life-changing day for Jamal and Melissa - as she gives birth to a second son. Amidst all the celebration, our young couple reflect on their situation and feel uncertain as to whether they want to be together anymore.

Isobella
Isobella needs funding if she's going to get her play off the ground. She thinks the Prince's Trust might just be the answer.

Josh
Josh is gradually getting into the social life at St Andrews Uni. but he's not keen on drunken evenings. This could prove a problem.

Sheila
Sheila's music career has had a dramatic turn of events this week. Her band have split up so she can concentrate on writing new music with a hot shot producer responsible for several number 1 hits!

Akilah
Akilah has had a stressful time enrolling for college this week as her funding from The Shoreditch Trust didn't come through in time. Will she be allowed to start lectures with all the other journalism students?

Claire
Claire’s having a typically frantic time… she’d only just got back from the States working all hours on the Obama campaign before going straight to the Labour conference in Manchester .
