P*****E
Panache is a lush pop project about unrealized fantasy dreams and the disappointment that comes from waking up, knowing that you had it all within your grasp.
Panache is based in Sweden and consists of two guys, a computer, a guitar, hundreds of records and a sampladelic frenzy.
On 25th of May 2005, Panache released the debut album "The Black Letters" on the Japanese label Rallye Records - a small indie label which has released great acts such as Au Revoir Simone, Certainly Sir, Department of Eagles, Garden, Junior Boys, Klaxons, Lo-Fi-Fnk, Midnight Juggernauts, Montag, Psapp, Surkin and more.
"The Black Letters" is a DIY lo-fi cut'n'paste pop album which draws a lot of inspiration from Japanese pop and The Avalanches' samplefest "Since I Left You" combined with the influence from artforms outside of the music sphere, such as rule-breaking ideas of Jean-Luc Godard and the non-musical pop ideas of Mike Alway's él label in the UK. Think of the record as a damaged VHS-to-CD transfer of a super rare exploitation film made in Italy in the 60s by Nicholas Roeg's pot-smoking circle of friends.
