WHERE SOUL MEETS THE ELECTRONICMATTER

About Me

Morningstar is one of my latest and long lasting projects with a wide variety of styles; dub, eclectic, triphop, breakbeat, electrotechno, but mainly electronic music. Music that i started making after years of dj-ing and touring throughout Holland with my punkrock band(Dogbreath), these were really the early days in my musical history and a great strange experience it was.
Bs1 was a techno project on the Den Hagueunderground techno label of Unit Moebius; Bunker/Acid Planet records(basicly oddtechno)
Dredd X was a project in the period of 1996/1997 on the Rotterdam reggae label Zola& Zola and two records were released in a digidub and jungle/drum and bass style .
Around 1995 when I was active as DJ and partyorganizer of(the GROOVEADELIC(FUNK) and MUTOID(TECHNO)parties, Morningstar started to rise when Iwas asked to make a couple 12 inches for the Delft Fusebox Triphoplabel. Later on i started performing in the clubcircuit of Holland with the Morningstarsoundsystem which included several guest dj's and mc's, places we played were Paradiso,L.V.C., Tivoli, Paard, Nighttown, Stalker, Solaris, Melkweg, etc.) and lots of festivals.(G.P.Z.H,Vers uit de maas finalist, what lead to some trax on promo cd's) One of the highlights was compiling the compilation 3CD"Timemachine" in 2000 with the Amsterdam DJ Per, which also contained some of Morningstar's trax like" the Chronic" and "Watch thy neighbour" a triphop and digidubtrack. This cd was released to tribute the 10 year aniversary of theTimemachine parties in the Melkweg and other clubs around Amsterdam at which we did livegigs and dj sets.
Later breakbeatproject No Request with rapper WRK Douge unfortunatly never made it to thestage. Latest project was a project with dutch poet Gijs ter haar, doing music for poetry"http://www.myspace.com/gijsterhaar"target="_blank"Gij s ter Haar. What has resulted in last years release , Gijs ter Haar's new book and cd,"Neem dit brood" for which i did most of the vocalrecordings and two musical backingtrax(Jazzlike and triphopstyle)for "Pink encounters"and"Poezie". This year the track "JUSTAMAN" found its way to the cd of a greek dancemagazine called Freeze.Furthermore i am busy working in the theatre making my living as a light and soundengineer. Future sounds will be released here on Myspace after picking up the vibe of this movement and who knows, some releases will come from this again.
