About Me

Website: The Jewish Internet Defense Force
(watch the documentary without the music, here )my internet activism and all of my expressions are merely a form of misguided prayer. i used to send way too many emails. then i had a fairly large presence on myspace. then i decided to delete it. recent developments (the massacre of 8 Jewish students) inspired me to begin anew. i have come back stronger in their honor. i generally like Facebook better (when they aren't going after me for "spam" in which people can easily opt out of.) I just hope Facebook will eventually take a strong stand against antisemitism and terrorism, as they are currently abdicating their moral and ethical responsibilities. i am doing a lot more over there. i'm not mr. observant nor mr. religious. however, i have a lot of Jewish pride and respect for that which Jews are supposed to do (even though many of us, including myself are not sure exactly how.) i prefer trying to reach for the high bar of proper Jewish observance gradually over time, rather than to lower the bar (or accept the fact that previous generations have lowered it for me,) thereby dismissing and disrespecting my rich culture and history. in other words, i have the most respect for "orthodox" judaism, even though i am not "orthodox" and feel it is clear that we were never to water down the mitzvot in order to make our lives easier. i resent previous generations for doing this, as it has made it extremely difficult for me to "reclaim" what has been lost (my great-grandfather was a highly regarded orthodox rabbi---while i grew up "reform," ignorant, and highly assimilated.) the fact that the Jewish people exist and thrive today is nothing short of miraculous.

My Interests

mishegas

I'd like to meet:

Anyone interested in winning the war (ie. right wingers.) Especially Jews. Especially cool, smart, confident Jews without insecurities or other weird hangups. I also like righteous gentiles, who might just outnumber Jews. (Then again, there have been many forced conversions throughout history.)
