Flicker is a quarterly film festival in Austin, TX that features short films by local filmmakers and all other enthusiasts who dare submit via mail. Everything screened at Flicker must be under 15 minutes in length and originate on super 8, regular 8, 16mm, and 35mm film stock - No Video Here! Flicker guarantees an array of projects and intriguing juxtapositions at every show, with linear narratives butting up against radical experiments, polished productions followed by earnest first efforts...
HBMG Foundation is introducing a new element to Flicker. Filmmakers have the option to incorporate one of the following “sparks†into their film. Don’t forget to indicate, in writing, which “spark†was used when submitting a film to ensure it’s eligible for the $250 cash prize for the best short. Here are the “sparks†for Flicker in 2007:
1. It happened one night
2. Lost in Baghdad, found next door
3. If you're so depressed, then why are you eating pizza?
4. 1000 places to see before you die
5. Airport Stories
6. On the corner, by the sign, next to the store....
