About Me

Dimitri has been a singer/songwriter for his entire adult life. What most call song writing, Dimitri refers to as streaming consciousness, finding complete thoughts and phrases complete as if channeling from outside himself. He has kept music a personal passion, not involving business or using it as a means of propriety. Dimitri began writing as a means of healing and has produced a growing body of heartfelt work with universal appeal. Through his journey in song, he finds a true connection with both his listeners and his inner-self.

His vocal arrangements and background singing are featured on La Bruja's album "Brujalicious". Dimitri recently performed at Aaron Davis Hall / HARLEM STAGE in Soul Erotica and was recently awarded a 2006 BISTRO by Back Stage magazine for Best POP/VOCAL performance.

My Interests

Music:

Influences: Artists of influence are George Michael, Portishead, Everything But The Girl, Massive Attack and Madonna. While there may not be a similarity in sound to many of those named, they have shaped the feeling that drives the music
Sounds Like: Vocally, I have been compared to George Michael. My song writing is a direct response to traumatic or emotionally challenging experiences. Away out of what seems impossible to recover from. The loss of love is truly what triggers the streams of consciousness that result in song.

Is it worth it?

Love hurts. Whether it fails or it works, at some point, it brings heartache and pain...Is it worth the never ending fear that the end is near?I'm not quite sure...
