Paradoxically, Fading Hour fall into the genre of bands that seems to never really fit nicely into a single genre. Fading Hour moves between trippy, ambient, earthy tribal grooves to heavy in your face rock in an instant. The boys have spend the better part of 3 years honing their sound into a unique and powerful sound that envelopes the listener and takes them on a journey.
Beginning humbly in a small scout hall basement jam room, Loki, Mick, Jono and former drummer Shannon jammed continuously, with the basics for many songs developed at this time. The boys really hit their stride with Chris becoming the Fading Hour drummer in 2006. Chris brought out a new level of intensity and musicianship in all members which is evident at the many live shows Fading Hour have played.
2006 and 2007 saw them gig heavily at venues such as the Ding Dong Lounge, Ruby’s Belgrave, The Espy, The Evelyn Hotel, The Peninsula Lounge with Australian heavy weight bands Dead Letter Circus, Mammal, Bushido, .Hinge and Rook.
2007 also saw them begin recording their debut EP with Warren Hammond. This EP is still in the works, with view to an early 2008 release. The boys appreciate the fans patience in this anticipated EP, but are striving to get the best result possible.
As always, the boys also appreciate the fans coming to their shows, and hope that 2008 will be the year that really launches Fading Hour into the spotlight.
Fading Hour are currently tracking their songs for their upcoming EP release. Stay tuned for updates or visit www.fadinghour.com for more updates, news and gig details.
