Since forming in a flurry of riffs, grooves and gigs in early 2006, Mammal have quickly established themselves as a solid figure in the Australian music scene.
Known around the nation for their uncompromising, physical and sometimes shocking live shows, they have spent the last eighteen months criss-crossing Australia. Playing in every State and Territory, over 120 gigs. This unrelenting schedule has seen their chemistry develop into an organic, living and seething expression of true punk rock sensibilities. All the while the lyrical content is challenging people to engage in becoming an active part of the (r)evolution that will one day put an end to the disease of capitalism, and it's symptoms of racism, sexism and homophobia. Mammal have not so much flown under the radar, but off it completely. Proof of this is their debut album "Vol 1: The Aural Underground" which was recorded live, in one take in their hometown, Melbourne, just four months after they started touring. It is a powerful expression and statement from a band who are rewriting the rules as they go. On the 20th of November 2007 Nick, Pete, Zane and Ezekiel began work on their first studio album which is due out in 2008.
