Stop hitting me with that OUCH!

About Me

How could you ever possibly know me from a tiny autobiography? I'm not too sure I know me so well, so I'm probably not an expert on the subject.I sing for a living, and it sure as hell beats working. Definitely not into that whole pain and suffering for a salary thing. Have a pet guinea pig called Munch. She wears the trousers.I really hope people outside of the UK understand that expression. I assure you my relationship with my guinea pig is wholesome.

My Interests

Many things, though most of them written down look like great big hairy cliches. Newspapers are interesting. You can make REALLY big paper aeroplanes with them, for example.

I'd like to meet:

Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, Marilyn Monroe, Marilyn Manson, Me, George Bush (where did I put that axe?), Roger Daltry, Adolf Hitler (we're back on the axe thing again), Bill Clinton, Cleopatra, My Grandparents

Music:

Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday, Jonatha Brooke, Dire Straits, Jason Mraz, Gordon Lightfoot (inherited the folk gene from my Dad), Radiohead, Nirvana, Fountains Of Wayne, Pink Floyd, can't think of most of the stuff I listen to when I try to write it down

Movies:

Anything plot and dialouge driven is good. Elizabeth (Cate Blanchett), Spy Game (Robert Redford/Brad Pitt). The Libertine (Johnny Depp) is awesome too. Really enjoy quirky movies - Terry Gilliam/Tim Burton are towards the top - though probably my all-time favourite movie is Dr Strangelove. I tend to end up watching blockbusters though, because I know what I'm getting!

Television:

Don't do it. Really don't do it.

Books:

Authors are easier: Peter F. Hamilton, Philip Pullman, Stephen Donaldson, Robert Rankin, J.R.R. Tolkien, George Orwell, Terry Pratchett, CS Lewis.

Heroes:

My Stepdad, Paul Hamilton.

Ben Folds

I'm not a religious person, but if I were to get spiritual in that way, I'd probably worship Ben Folds. Tonight he was supposed to be playing with his band, but his drummer managed to get food poisoni...

I am back from the weekend's exploits, have drank enough caffeine to poison Bolivia and I am ashamed of my driving. A while back I took a Saturday night booking for a gig in St Andrews (330 miles...

Just got back from being the opening act for a local band called Wren. Despite nearly freezing my assets off - insert your own jokes here - I had it easy peasy, doing the unplugged thing with a c...

Went to London on Monday, this time by coach instead of driving. Managed to make it from the Victoria station to a pub on the same city block. Spent the evening there catching up with old friend Julia...

I'm alive!

I seem to have survived the weekend. Piper was the quietest I've ever seen it tonight, but in all honesty I needed the rest. Off to London again tomorrow to meet up with James and Julia. God help me.

Watch out Hull, here I come.

Well, it's Friday night and sobriety has snuck (that is a word) up on me like a rabid dog. On account of the fact that I have both tonight and tomorrow night off and I'm actually home for a change, I ...

Omigodomigodomigod!!!

Well, hello there. I seem to have survived my week away from Hull. Anyone who tells you London is the civilised centre of the world should be hauled into the street and shot. Everyone I know who lives...
