About Me

I'm a shy, quiet person; pretty laid back and easy going. I'm a born again Christian, and I'm active in my local church, where I participate in the music ministry. I'm a native Texan, as were both parents and all four grandparents. I like to travel - cruises especially. My children (cats) are Milo (13), Smoky (6), Flopsy (3) and Spitfire (3).

Progress report

OK.  I checked my route by my car's odometer, and a lap is actually 1.2 miles, and the terrain is quite rugged.  So my usual 3 laps is 3.6 miles.  This morning I added a 4th lap, a...

Maybe.  I'm not really sure this 50-year-old body can even still walk 13.5 miles, but that's the plan.  I've upped my morning walks from 2 miles to 3 miles, and I went out today and bought s...

Haiti mission trip - conclusion

Somehow, my perspective has changed since the trip.  I'm not saying I don't still get things wrong, but I just seem to see things a little differently now.  Take the song we sing at church s...

Haiti mission trip - part 2

There's a little girl named Claire at the Hands and Feet Project that stole all our hearts.  She'd been terribly abused.  There are scars all over her body from cigarette burns, yet she was ...

Haiti mission trip - part 1

From the time I read about Mo and Kristie's trip to the Hands and Feet Project in Haiti last year, my interest was piqued.  It's an orphanage that was founded by the band Audio Adrenaline and is ...

Heavenly host

Last December I went to the Christmas Hope Tour in Brenham, Texas.  Todd Agnew's CD Do You See What I See? takes a new outlook on an old, old story.  What did the first Christmas look like t...
