All of the songs on my record were written by my late grandfather, Ernest G. Schweikert and his co-writer Frank Reardon and have been lost for over fifty years. Having written songs for legends such as Billie Holliday, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Guy Lombardo, The Four Aces, Dinah Shore, Carmen MacCrae, Al Hibler, Perry Como etc, and not getting the writers royalties owed to him, my late grandfather threw every musical composition he had ever written in the garbage and never spoke of his music again because it was too painful for him. I was four when he passed away. I promised my grandmother that I would find the lost compositions of my late grandfather. She passed away the next day completely unexpected and so it was that my journey began....
I am honored to have the ability to share these beautiful works with all of you. I was able to perform some of my late grandfathers music in Paris and England. With the positive reception, I came to realize that this music has the power way beyond limitations of different languages and cultures. I hope you enjoy it!
I am also working to get certain copyright laws ammended to appropriately benefit songwriters and their heirs. I am specifically interested in addressing the lifetime of US Copyright Protection as well as the restoration of works that have fallen into the public domain.
I'm doing a lot of writing and I'm very excited about the writing process. It is an amazing experience to be able to take your emotions and put them into a tangible form of expression that someone else can feel. It's amazing to play what you just wrote and be able to HEAR how you FEEL! I hope you all like what I'm writing. Thanks for standing by me in my creative/life process.

Influences: One of my greatest and most valuable experiences making this record has been that I had no influence from anyone so I have really been able to make this music my own. These songs have been lost for over fifty years. They have never been recorded. The only thing I had to work with were the original lead sheets, most of which were my grandfathers handwritten scores. Finding his music was so special to me and I chose to only be influenced by what he had written on those lead sheets to create something unique, like his writing, that he would have been proud of.

Sounds Like: This music was written during the era of Frank Sinatra (who I LOVE), Billie Holliday, Guy Lombardo, Sammy Davis Jr, Dinah Shore etc. The superb writing talents of Ernest G. Schweikert and Frank Reardon make these beautiful songs timeless!

IN LOVING MEMORY OF AHMET ERTEGUN

July 31, 1923 - December 14, 2006
Ahmet Ertegun was the most important figure in the record industry of the 20th century. When he started Atlantic Records in 1947 with a $10,000 loan from his dentist, Vahdi Sabit, and $2,500 from his partner Herb Abramson, the three of them had no idea that the label would shape popular music over the next six decades.
In the Fifties and early Sixties, Atlantic became the leading US independent label for jazz and rhythm 'n'blues, recording Ruth Brown, Ray Charles, LaVern Baker, the Drifters, John Coltrane, Charlie Mingus, Ornette Coleman and Roland Kirk, before achieving mainstream success with Bobby Darin, Nino Tempo and April Stevens.
