Taking over Phoenix, one cactus at a time...

About Me

I'm just a lost New Yorker who got on the wrong plane and ended up in the middle the the Arizona desert.Whenever I'm asked to describe myself the only thing I can usually come up with is that I'm just me. I'm not perfect, I never was, nor will I ever be. I can say I'm not materialistic, but that would be a lie. I just have learned how to live without materialism, if that makes sense. I strive hard to be a kind and generous person, always putting others before myself. I'm greedy about few things in life, money being none of the above. I sometimes think how foolish I am to be generous with money when I don't even have very much in the first place. Maybe that's why I'm working two jobs?I haven't always been a kind person. Like I said, I'm not perfect. However, throughout the past 3 years, i've learned a lot about the world, people and most importantly myself. My time here in Arizona has been a very profitable one. In the sense that I've gained a lot of perspective of my life. I've turned this journey into a spiritual one, a bit of a soul-search. I found it, and now I'm ready to make the next change. Whatever that might be, who knows. Whomever decides to come along for the ride, prepare yourself.I'm a laid-back, down to earth person. I'll be the first to stop and help someone, give advice, or just hug. I'll be the last to laugh at someone's outfit, hair color or mannerisms. Who cares if that guy decided to make a suit out of garbage bags and dye his hair purple and pink? He's a very creative person and if he likes it, then I will too. (however, not for myself....lol)I have a firm belief that there aren't enough nice people in this world. Therefore, I strive hard to change that. I will be the first to help an old lady across the street, a stranger pick up scattered papers, hold a door for a stranger walking out, before I walk in. I think if each person just stopped to smile at another and do something kind, the world would mutate into a kinder place to live.As far as religion, tell me what you believe in and I'll find it interesting. I was raised Christian Conservative, in a smaller denomination known as Wesleyan. (if you've heard of it, congrats!) I have nothing against it (except for the refusal to consume any form of alcohol and participation in dance), however, I quickly learned that I just couldn't continue to worship God in such an restricted way. In fact, I have to be honest, I have a hard time with organized religion. Therefore, I pray and worship in my own way, am not 'religious' but am spiritual. I believe in Karma, which apparently Christianity doesn't. (Even though, the infamous Golden Rule, originating from the old testament, pretty much means the same thing as Karma....I could keep going with this, if you really wanted)I realized that there's more in life that I have to accomplish. Not only am I yearning to be a father, I am not going to make that step until I can financially afford it. Even so, before that, I have to make sure I create a legacy for my children. That legacy is the generosity of your heart towards those who may be less fortunate than yourself. Currently, i am sponsoring a child in South Africa named Palesa (you can see her adorable picture in my picture section). I have also participated in marathons for Breast Cancer Awareness and helped raise money. The last event I attended, we raised a total of $2 million for the Breast Cancer Foundation! Now, i've realized I've written more than the "About Me" probably is meant to be, however, one last tidbit. I have grown a lot because of not only the mistakes in my life that I have made, but the mistakes in other peoples' lives that have been made directly affecting me. I have no hatred against them and love them even more for their mistakes. It shows they aren't perfect, just as I am not. If it weren't for them, I wouldn't have become the person i am today. I appreciate it so much, I started writing a book two years ago about it and am still slowly working on it.I am me. There's more to know, and I'm more than happy to share, this was just an epic that I decided to ramble at 2am.LOVEMYFLASH CODE

I'd like to meet:

Anyone, really. I love meeting new people, because everyone's self is easily revealed when you stop to listen to what they have to say. I find it amazing how society and the world are so caught up in themselves, personal success, and the drama that comes with it. People are amazing creatures, and someday I hope to find one to keep. At the moment, love is something I've stopped looking for and have started giving. All my friends give more love than I've ever expected to give. Romance is something that happens between two people who are connected on a deeper level than others around them. Being in love is rare, I don't expect it to happen anytime soon, but when it does, I'll know it. So I don't force anything and don't usually try to date people. If someone comes along, great. If not, c'est la vie!View All Friends | View Blog

Music:

I'm open for anything. Lately, I've been paying more attention to the lyrics of different songs, before the beat. Granted, the beat to a song is very important. Currently, I'm obsessed with MIKA. He's a very talented and good-souled artist. Just listen to the lyrics of all his songs! Grace Kelly is my theme song, I love it. Refresh my page and listen to the lyrics! I also recommend everyone look up "Instant Karma: Save Darfur" it was released by Yoko Ono and it's all of John Lennon's work, preformed by some of the most talented artists we have today. All proceeds from the album go to an organization to help the victims of Darfur.

Movies:

I love movies. I watch a lot and always try to go to the theaters. My favorite all time film is Crash. Next would be Babel, Children of Men, and the list goes on....I would have to email and research to figure out all the titles. I'm bad at remembering titles of films off the top of my head.

Television:

I don't watch much TV. When I do, it usually ends up being Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, HGTV, Food Network, CNN, Fox News and Heroes. (best TV show is amazing)

Books:

"Harvard's Secret Court", "The End of Faith", "The Kite Runner", "The Bookseller of Kabul", "The Poisonwood Bible", "The End of Faith"!!!

Heroes:

Your mother.
