Well, I hate politics. But I like old sports cars, ancient music, old barns and tractors, bicycling, history, science, nature...well, pretty much everything interesting. But I hate politics. I hate politics a lot.
People who want to put politicians on a leash, so that they leave us and our stuff alone. That is what the Constitution is for, after all. I'd like to meet people who appreciate the good things in life so much, that they'll defend them from politicians. I'd like to meet people who think before they promise to obey a flag. I'd like to meet people who know that, as Edward Abbey said, "A patriot must always be ready to defend his country against his government." I'd like to meet people who have thought about the way things ought to be, and want to make it so.
Classics (e.g.,Bach, Beethoven, et al.), some bluegrass, a lot of Irish and Scottish folk...I love good music. But it doesn't always sound the same when I play it myself on banjo or piano. I don't understand.
Second Hand Lions and a handful of others. I particularly like movies that portray politicians as bad guys.
Don't touch the stuff.
Don't know where to begin; but they're all old books. ...Really old books. From all the crummy new books I've read, I must conclude that humankind is devolving.
I don't use this word lightly. Most of my heroes (and there are not many) are long dead. My heroes mostly hated politics. Dr. Ron Paul would have to rate as a living hero. I've met some folks you'd have never heard of that are in my book as living heroes. Sadly, I know no heroes in public office other than Dr. Paul ...anywhere in the world.
