Satisfying the punk rockers, the pop-sensibles, and anyone who wants quite possibly the perfect "driving tape," the debut album from The 8th Grade along with their exponentially expanding fan-base is attracting a lot of attention. So heavily laced with endlessly captivating grooves, catchy melodies and infectious riffs, it is an easy mistake to at first overlook the complex, image-rich, insightful and often comedic lyrics on this powerful first release. Produced by Dani Amendola and Grammy-nominated Scott Rouse, this self-titled independent release introduces a band full of energy and excitement, ready to entertain wide crossover audiences.
Surprisingly based out of Nashville, this punky, witty, melodic trio has already found its way into two Hollywood movie soundtracks and has been approached about several upcoming projects. As with any creative band, Paul Cassella (Guitar and Lead Vocals), Matthew Sexton (Bass and Backing Vocals), and James Pecora (Drums and Backing Vocals) have brought their diverse backgrounds and extremely vast body of influences with them to add to this new mix. One could be an incredible music-geek and pick out all the varied influences that have been so wondrously crafted and combined to create The 8th Grade's sound. Or one can simply take the music for what it is. The 8th Grade has brought us a new and electrifying sound all their own, and audiences and industry members alike are quickly discovering you just can't get enough of it.Look for songs from The 8th Grade on soundtracks for major motion pictures, Employee of the Month and Kalamazoo.
