Bio:
AVP veteran and a mainstay on the Tour, Annett Davis captured the coveted title "Queen of the Beach" in 2004 in Honolulu although she and partner Jenny Johnson Jordan are more noted for ending Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor's 89 match winning streak, one of the most impressive winning streaks in all of sports history. In 2004, Davis and Johnson Jordan became the U.S. team with most career tournaments played together, and in Huntington Beach 2007 they played their 100th event together, a feat which only one other team in the world had accomplished.Davis and Johnson Jordan had their most successful season in 2002 when they captured two first places, two second places and three third places. A Special Acheivement Award concluded the rewarding season. Both players missed the 2001 and 2005 seasons due to pregnancy, and in 2006 Johnson Jordan returned to advance to nine semifinals.Davis ranked sixth on the 2006 AVP Tour in hitting percentage (.440) and ninth in kill percentage (.547). In 2007 she again was sixth in hitting percentage (.444) while being 10th in kill percentage (.535). She has finished ranked in the top five in season points four of the five years she has competed on the AVP Tour.In the 2000 Sydney Olympics she finished fifth with Johnson Jordan. The duo finished third among U.S. women in qualifying for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. In 1999, they were the winningest USA men's or women's pro beach tandem with over $200,000 in prize earnings. Their first six titles together in their careers came across four different tours in a span of 14 months.Competed two seasons on the four-person circuit where she teamed with Johnson Jordan, Gabrielle Reece and Stephanie Cox to lead the United States to the four-person title at the 1997 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships in Los Angeles.Davis attended UCLA where she started for four seasons earning All-League and All-American honors. She was the PAC-10's 1994 Player of the Year.Family-oriented, Davis is a dedicated wife to Byron and mother to her son Mya, born in June 2001, and her daughter Victoria, born in November 2005. Byron was a 12-time All-American swimmer and her father, Cleveland Buckner, is a former NBA player who played in the game where Wilt Chamberlain scored 100 points.
