Davey Dave was given his nickname by grandma because of my always there belly, sorta like Baby Huey. Thats gone now. I GREW up in the streets of Oak Cliff. SOUTHSIDE KIEST & POLK. BECKLEY & SANER. HAMPTON & ILLIONIS. Enuff said. For a while, I gave in to Sin & the Lure of the Streets, but in 2001,I graduated from school (TOWNVIEW) despite MANY obstacles(Graduating on time/Suspension/loss of Friends R.I.P.) & naysayers.Ups & Downs, Downs & Ups in MY life molded me to who I Am. I HAVE lived the LIFE to pursue MUSIC & tell you a STORY.4 Real recognize REAL. I saw a lot of people get locked up, shot, & basically saw alot of wrong. I WAS HEADED THAT WAY BUT I didn’t want to go down that road and stay there. I had to do something different with my life. I'VE BEEN IN WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A FATAL CAR ACCIDENT, & WALKED AWAY WITH "0" SCRATCHES. SURVIVED SEVERAL SHOOTINGS, was never hit cause they had BAD AIM. Probably CLOSED THEIR EYES. I'll never know. Then I got it. Tellem about what I've seen.
A music career has been in the back of my mind since high school when I used to leave school to go to music stores every Tuesday(That NO LIMIT)to pick up NEW music. Whats up to Rhythm Traxx, TopTen Records,TOWER (NO LONGER WITH US), & cant forget Planet Rock!I didn’t take my potential seriously til recently. Guess 20 something years of listening to rap, hip hop & rock finally triggered something in the head.
I just try to bring EVERYONE closer with each other & to me. Im not scared to rap about who I AM or what’s really going on in the world, the HOOD or around me. Its nice & all, but it’s not just about shiny possesions with me.
