SKETCH THE SUN was started in autumn of 2005 in Antwerp (Belgium) by dRE (vocals, guitar). By the end of the year Llano (drums, back-vox) and Kevin (bass) join the band. In August of 2006 they record their first song together called "Games We Play" for the Kickass Records "Live Fast Die!" sampler CD (out now!). This song also won the Demopoll contest, organized by "Studio Brussel" radiostation, which took place from 8th till 15th of February 2007.
In autumn of 2006 STS record 6 songs for their debut EP which is released for free download in April 2007. The song "Misplaced" from the EP also makes part of the second Kickass Records compilation "Live Fast Die! Part Deux" which came out on 7th of July!
In March 2007 Llano leaves Sketch The Sun to play in a metalcore band while Kevin also stops to concentrate on his studies.
At the moment dRE is finishing writing new material for an album which he plans to record with some of his friends in the coming months. The album is planned for release at the end of 2007 - beginning of 2008.
Our 6-song debut EP is OUT NOW!
It was recorded over the period of 3 weekends at the end of a very cold November and beginning of the also cold December 2006. Mixing was done at the famous De Studio on 8-9 March 2007. The EP consists of 6 punkrocking songs, some dated from dRE's days with his previous Moscow-based band 'Shnurki', and some totally fresh, like "Misplaced" and "Bring Me Down".
