PENNY ~~~ ~~~ This band was very popular on the East Coast in the early 1980's. We toured while playing a Jimi Hendrix Tribute Show called "the New Band of Gypsies" and later became "James T. Penny". James and I spent just over a year in the studio writing and recording original songs. James did all of the guitar, bass, and vocal tracks while I played drums and percussion. James and I also did most of the final producing and some engineering. These songs were first recorded using the same console owned and used by Jimi Hendrix in his Electric Ladyland Studio. His spirit and energy were there every time we recorded a track. At times when we would listen to the final mix-down of a song, strange guitar parts would appear underneath the tracks that we played. Major record labels told us that the band was way ahead of its time and that the World just wasn't ready for another Jimi Hendrix. Please feel free to send messages or leave us comments about the music.
