About Me

Sleeps Six is waking up again...in time for the next album, titled "Late Enough" due in summer '08... Roots based, honest and unique songwriting...culled from years of living, loss, and learning.
Founded by Pauline Groen, who initally played keyboards in a number of bands, including The Tribe with Dead Boys drummer Johnny Blitz, The Cardboard Brains (which included playing a memorable opener for The Stranglers at Barrymore's Music Hall in Ottawa), and Mayday Parade; then turned to the guitar and began writing...
The first incarnation of Sleeps Six included the brilliant guitar stylings of George Guerra, which helped to create the perfect sonic launching pad. Bassist Ian Sinclair (Jane Siberry/David Ramsden/Love Among Savages) brought his effortless feel into the mix, and Sleeps Six was happening...
This is a band with depth. Groen's ear for evocative melodies serves up another collection of songwriting, following up the first album, titled "Nacre". Groen also performs all guitar tracks on the current upcoming album, with Craig O'Neil guesting on guitar solos in "Breathe" and "What Do You Mean".
Sev Micron's 7 years of drumming with Tulpa, amongst other projects, gives over to the essential, honest sound the songs have been looking for.
Brilliantfish has also been crucial to the makeup of Sleeps Six, performing all drum tracks on "Nacre" and also appearing on the upcoming "Late Enough" album. A vast array of notable project involvements on BF's resume...all adding up to a continuing, growing artist Sleeps Six is lucky to have on board.
Marc Ganetakos has played/written/performed with a noteworthy cast of musicians, including Nelly Furtado, along with having shared the stage with The Tea Party, Spirit of the West, Alanis Morissette, and brings world class guitar mastery into the project's live show.
Chris Bottomley, former bassist for Tulpa and currently heading his own project Brainfudge, contributed his solid talent on all tracks for the upcoming "Late Enough" album.
Jim Field, while known as guitarist for Rhea's Obsession as well as his current project Spacenoiz, is on bass for Sleeps Six's live show, and it's like he never left his first instrument...
Watch for upcoming show announcements this Spring/Summer...
