EXTRA EXTRA! the long awaited film "The Adventures of C-ya" directed by Chris is finished! Take a look!
Frenemies is the nom de plume of Baltimore musician/songwriter Chris Freeland. In 2006 Chris gathered the talents of Steve Hefter (& Friends of Friends), Dan Franz (Arbouretum), Alex Scally (now of Beach House), Jones, and Andy Cook to play songs that are built on a desire to combine traditional verse/chorus pop songwriting with a big boody rhythm section of dance, punk, and rap.
In an effort to promote literacy and friendship, all Frenemies concerts double as Book Exchanges. If you plan on attending a show, please look through your shelves and find a book you would like to share.
I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace) - this is what we look like playing in NYC- thanks to Andy's friend who drew this- sorry I forgot your name.
Ho Ho Ho! The "Everybody Wants a Piece of You" video is in! It was shot at a drawing party. There was beer and a Hackeysack session broke out. Were you there? Thanks Thom Kordonowy!
Here are some words about Birds in High School:
"A surprisingly melodic and personal album…. Birds in High School possesses an air of amateurishness, something garage about it that is charming and immediate… But there’s something darker at work here. Maybe the record is intentionally less stylish and goofy, maybe even jovial, but there’s also something jagged, unrefined and curious to be discovered."-Conrad Ameta -Coke Machine Glow
"Birds’ features odes to chronic illness, sports, having goals, and disastrous but funky relationships. With a sharp eye for the awkward and grand, Freeland pays attention with eyes and with ears. This is a record and a career worth paying attention to as well." -Music emissions.com
"Spastic power pop funk is how I would describe the Baltimore based creation of Chris Freeland. Think equal parts frenetic Arctic Monkeys and melodic Talking Heads. Freeland completely sells his vocals and sounds like, though the album is only available digitally, he made the album of his career." -cdreviews.com
