Dust is formed by musicians who had already been involved in projects with different stytlistic orientation. After having played in some bands Kai and Gigi formed "Spike‘s little A‘s“, a Rock-Pop-Band with classical line up and self composed songs: guitar, bass, drums and vocals. Fatima and Alp joined the band. What followed were lots of gigs, a CD production "Viva spike!“, number 1 at the talent web internet charts and their song "No My Dear“ was chosen for a nationwide talent sampler CD.After having split the band, Kai, Fatima and Gigi joined a project with well known electronic artist Robert Schroeder called "BarBeat“In 3 months the CD of the same name was created including interpretations of songs from bands as Air, Portishead, Garbage and others. At the same time the whole old spike band members made a lot of gigs with a rock cover line up, playing songs from Metallica,Keziah Jones,Torn,Madonna, Nirvana and a lot of other songs. With the birth of "dust“ the members were trying to fuse all their so far influences into a new mixture of new compositions of many styles: Rockguitars meeting house beats, piano sonnets melting with Hip Hop Beats, ambient spheres, reggae influences, funky tunes, whatever. And always inbetween the beautiful voice by Fatima and the additional Vocals from Nadja. Just according to their motto: dust is here to mix it all. The same motto is represented in the bands line up. Allthough all of the band members live in Aachen only the turkish bassman Alp was born there. Gigi grew up in the United States and in Brussels, Fatima comes from Mazedonia and finally Kai from the german „Ruhrpott“. „dust“ is a musical and personal meltingpot of ideas and creativity.
