About Me

Check out my latest mix .
WELCOME TO MY MYSPACE GUYS. A few things worth mentioning:
1. It is my duty to live the meta-example of Jesus. To me, that means loving my enemies, returning good for evil, praying for those that persecute me, and as Gandhi observed, "Be(ing) the change you wish to see in the world." Living that means taking back the mantle of Christ from the hateful (see Westboro Baptist Church), the dogmatic (fundamentalist Catholics and Protestants), and the half-steppin' (like opposing abortion but not the death penalty).
Points worth making:
a) I believe Jesus is opposed to the death penalty, and therefore I am opposed to the death penalty. I believe that when any person takes a life, the outcome is tragic. It follows that I am opposed to the taking of life under any and all circumstances. I do believe that life without the possibility of parole is not necessarily an excessive or cruel punishment, but should be considered only for those who demonstrate an overwhelming inability to safely coexist with the rest of us (serial killers tend to fit my criteria, for example). b) In the absence of a danger to the mother's health, I am opposed to the performance of abortions at any stage of pregnancy beyond the point at which the fetus senses pain, because I believe the Son is opposed to any one of us inflicting selfishly-motivated pain on another. Most available medical research data seems to indicate fetuses begin to feel pain at 8 weeks. I think that's a fair cutoff, and I'd even go so far as to say any woman ought to be able to get a free abortion from a publicly funded and overseen clinic at up to 7 weeks and 6 days of pregnancy, and any woman ought to be imprisoned and given mandatory counseling for consenting to an abortion at 8 weeks or beyond. The performer of such an abortion should get a mandatory-identical penalty as the mother, whatever the legal system decides based on the circumstances of the case. Since we can't agree on "when life begins" we ought to at least recognize that "when pain begins" can be identified objectively.
c)I believe legislating individual morality is a fool's errand given to us by the Satan in each of us and in our collective spirit. Remember, the original definition of Satan is "adversary" and if you believe that "the Kingdom of God is within you" as Jesus teaches then it follows that the torment of Hell is within us as well. Or, as Roy Orbison correctly observed, "A diamond is a diamond, a stone a stone, but a man's not all good nor all bad." If all plants bearing seed are God's express gifts to our species, and if God warns us over and over about the perils of alcohol yet completely sidesteps cannabis (at least in the canonical interpretations) which is known to have been widely used in the times and places of the Bible, and if alcohol can kill by both overdose and withdrawal, but cannabis has never killed a single human being in recorded human history, does it not follow that the very idea of a War On (some) Drugs is a cruel hoax perpetuated by the adversaries within us individually and collectively?
d)Further discussion ammo may be found here .
2. I don't have any mixes or boots hosted on myspace at the moment. Instead you can download my latest mix from the link above. There are many reasons for doing this, not the least of which is that what I produce tends to challenge the copyright status quo.
