And ye shall know the Truth, and the Truth shall make you free (John, 8:32)

About Me

32 years old Metalhead. I live in Toulouse, which is a big city in the South-West side of France, full of histories. I do consider myself an occitan (old south frenchmen), and I'm fluent in the occitan language as well as some other ones. I'm proud of being a southerner, and never miss an occasion to learn about some legend or family fact. Above all things, I value Friendship and Respect : respect for those that make the Scene alive, respect for those that have Knowledge and experience, Respect for those that DO something instead of TALKING ABOUT DOING something, respect for those that were here before me, respect to those from which I learn, respect to those that I consider my friends...I may not be the most friendly guy on first look, but once I give my friendship, I never turn back, even if you don't hear about me for years. I'm always there for my friends, and they know it. What Kind of Metalhead Are You?
You are a True Metalhead. You dig the classic music and the classic lifestyle. As metalheads go, you're pretty open-minded in terms of music and lyrics; if it rocks, then you'll listen to it. Concerts are the pinnacle of the metal experience, though sometimes they get a little too crazy. You generally respect everybody else, but as far as you're concerned, they all wish they were Priest or Maiden.

Metal as a whole, but mostly Extreme Metal (see below), means a lot to me : each time I can, I attend gigs (preferably underground acts : it's not that I don't enjoy The Big Names, but younger bands deserve to get helped in being known...) and lend a hand if I can (giving flyers, promoting on the web, etc...). I do live for Metal, even if I don't especially physically looks like one (who cares anyway? Actions speak louder than words!!), and I don't see any reasons for me to stop as long as there will be respectful and friendly people in the scene who support the Spirit. I like to collect CDs, tapes and vinyles, and currently I'm very slowly rebuilding my Death Metal collection which was nearly entirely stolen during the sack of my flat in 1998 (I'll get you some day, fuckers!!!)...
You scored as Funeral Doom Metalist. You are a funeral doom fan, you like music that has common in death (Music of funerals/ inside the casket) don't worry if someone calls you a goth, you are superior than them as you do not even fear death!

Which metal genre do you love the most? (Prepare for a long quiz!!!)
created with QuizFarm.com I hate : direspectful persons, backstabbers, forked-tongue people, plain liars, brainless wankers who pretend to tell you what to do and think they know all when they don't know SHIT,...I don't care what they say, I live my life my way. When it comes to my Internet life : I'm a writer/reviewer for the french Metal database Cryptic Madness (http://www.crypticmadness.com), where I write biographies and reviews on nearly anything Doom Metal and Old School Death Metal. Bios I have written includes Saint-Vitus, Iron Man, Demilich, Demigod, Necrophagia, Cianide, Death, Dimmu Borgir, Black Sabbath, Motorhead, Voivod, Trouble, Moss, Mortician...I'm also a moderator on the Cryptic Madness Forum, as well as part of the moderating team on the official forum of the norvegian band Dimmu Borgir.

My Interests

My wife (je ne pourrais jamais assez te dire à quel point tu comptes pour moi!!) and family, my friends, METAL, my countryside of birth, History (mainly up from the pre-medieval times to the french Revolution), Horror movies. I'm what we call a "bon vivant" : I like a good meal with some good wine, even better if shared with some close friends. I'm also an avid reader, and generally use a book each week (if not more, depending on the size and interest). I'm not a sportive type of guy, but I trekk whenever I'm able to, either in solo or in groups : I especially like to trekk in the Pyrenees mountains. And naturally, I attend every little/Underground Metal gig/fest that I can in my city or neighbouring suburbs, and more big acts whenever some come here.

I'd like to meet:

Metalheads with a taste in all things Doom Metal and old school Death Metal (pre-1994). Basically : you like even just one of those 2 videos down here, you're welcome. Rappers, Hip-hopers, RnBers, Myspace virtual whores and Emogoth bitches : don't waste your time in asking, you won't be added. MASSACRA-Enjoy The Violence (Live).. SAINT VITUS-I Bleed Black

Music:

Doom Metal, old school Death Metal (pre-1994 : few are the new bands that I like, but still there's some great ones), Heavy Metal and a bunch of other stuff....and if that's not clear enough, just browse through my Friends'List to have a more complete panel of my tastes in Metal and else.

Movies:

HORROR MOVIES of all style (mostly italian and english), and I'm a DVD collector in this field, especially B and Z movies. Favorite actor in the genre is Peter Cushing, favorite actress is Barbara Steele and favorite directors are Mario Bava, Terence Fischer and Lucio Fulci. Some examples of the movies I dig : Everything by the Monty Python, and when I say everything I mean EVERYTHING!!! 60's french comedies (Michel Audiard rules!!!) 70's/80's italian western and noir movies Fantasy stuff (like "Lord Of The Rings", "Conan", "Krull"...) Historical movies Anything by John Carpenter

Television:

Euh...documentaries on historical subjects, and once in a while US cop series (like "NYPD Blue" or "The Shield")...AND MY HORROR MOVIES!!!!

Books:

History books Horror books (big HP Lovecraft, Jean Ray, RE Howard, Claude Seignolle and CA Smith here) Fantasy books I'm an avid reader and generally read around a different book each week (if not more, depending of the size and the interest).
