About Me

MY FAVORITE PHOTOS - SMOOSH "FIND A WAY" ON-SET PHOTOS - THE ESCARPMENT - MAY '06

Born in Connecticut. College in Boston, studying Int'l Relations of all things. Spent my 20's in NYC mostly working in music video and commercial production. After producing a couple of fairly big videos and production managing a zillion more, I got burned out and moved to LA. I've spent most of my time here working at major studio doing post production work. I was laid off in '05 and given a fat check. I went back to work last July and have been mostly working part time in order supplement my photo work. I've also been working freelance as post production coordinator/supervisor recently. (If you have any work, I'm always looking) My photo work includes photos for the book MAKING MUSIC VIDEOS (check out the cover in my photos). The book comes out in July 2007. I now have photos up flickr. If you are interested in seeing them, check them out here...http://www.flickr.com/photos/deanmackayphoto/...I'm hoping to get more photo work soon as well.9-5 life is definitely not for me. I prefer to work like crazy and then relax like crazy. I guess working freelance did that to me. I also enjoy a nice balance of doing some mundane thing along with doing some really interesting and/or creative things. Also while I'm on this theme, I enjoy being social, but also value my personal time and space greatly. As well, sometimes I'll talk your ear off and other times I'd rather sit back and listen. I value my friends highly and still keep in touch with many from every place I've lived. I also enjoy people watching.Mostly, I like to hang out with my friends, have a few drinks (mostly Maker's Mark or Tanqueray Rangpur and beer these days), and listen to a good variety of music (rock, country, punk, singer-songwriter, hip-hop, r&b, etc.) although lately I've been spending alot of time at home trying clean up and simplify. Oh yeah, if there's a hockey game to go to or a football game to watch, I'll most likely be there. And if you want to go see some live music or a baseball game, always keep me in mind. I also enjoy going to the movie theatre to see a film, but I don't do it nearly enough.I've been a pack rat for a while, but am now working on selling things and throwing things away. It's a slow process, but I'm looking forward to someday being a minimalist. Also, I've been going through alot of positive changes in recent months and so if you think you know me...think again. I'm still a work-in-progress and progress comes quite often these days. This work on me is very important so be warned...if you ask me about it...I'll probably talk your ear off and dig deep into the dark corners. My pirate name is: Red Davy Rackham Passion is a big part of your life, which makes sense for a pirate. You have the good fortune of having a good name, since Rackham (pronounced RACKem, not rack-ham) is one of the coolest sounding surnames for a pirate. Arr! Get your own pirate name from piratequiz.com.
