About Me

Heavy Mama are a 3 piece (powerhouse trio !!) blues based band, although they do delve into another world of music, genre unknown ! They play various covers, and their own material. This all makes for a excellent and exciting set to gig with.
The band consists of Robbie 'bottleneck bob' Hill, aka The Riffmeister Genenral, from Leven, Fife, on guitar and vocals, 'Sinister' Steven Adamson from Bellshill on bass guitar and backing ranting and The Sensational Stephen 'Steesh' Kirk, aka StevieK, from Leven, Fife, on the drumkit and backing vocals.
Robbie and StevieK have played together since 2002, and were looking for an able and committed bassist for some time: trying out various bass players and self made humanoids without much success. They both enrolled at Perth College, and managed to create something special when they teamed up with the weird and wonderful Steven Adamson, to form Heavy Mama !!! With the varied influences of all three musicians combined, a formidable musical mutation has grown and is looking to take the world by storm. Formed in late 2005, Heavy Mama want to gig, gig, and then gig some more!
Since the band members were released from their padded cells in 2005, Heavy Mama have performed in venues from Inverness to Glasgow. This includes The 2007 Arbroath Bell Rock Blues Festival, where Heavy Mama went down a storm, and will be returning this year.It's now 2008 and with more and more gigs being lined up, new material being written, and studio recording time planned, things are moving in the right direction.
