About Me

Hi, I'm El Keter.

I'm an old-jack. I have gray hair. I have a beard. I have a bad back. I make beats.

I'm a backpacker. I know more about hip-hop than you or most people you know. I probably rhyme better than you and all your young-buck friends do too. Not that I actually do much rhyming any more.

I love music. I review music for a living. I probably don't like the music you like (not to mention the music you make) though.

You can often find me writing about music, movies, television, books, technology, news, current events, and just about everything else at Imageyenation , the group blog I run dedicated to underground, urban and alternative culture. The site features a lot of in-depth music reviews, audio and video links, exclusive MP3 downloads, and a bunch of other boss stuff, including our bi-weekly Undertones podcast series.

When I'm not doing any of that I'm almost always spinning records for people.

More often than not I can be heard on the public airwaves giving an unsuspecting listening audience a dose of Dusty Grooves and Urban Alternatives, every Monday and Wednesday respectively, late night, 12 midnight to 3 AM eastern time on 90.7 FM WTCC, and on the world wide web via Real Audio , Windows Media and Shoutcast/MP3 streams.
So please feel free to listen in.

And if you want to send me records, for airplay, review, or any other purpose, just drop me a note for my mailing address.

So umm, yeah... nod your head to this.

Also, I recently produced 12 of the 16 tracks on award-winning Fort Wayne, Indiana-based emcee Sankofa 's new album 'The Tortoise Hustle.' You can cop it from him, in a special, limited-edition (only 250 were made) hand-stamped tin case. Or, you can cop it from me, for the reasonable sum of $14.00 USD (shipping included) in an even more special, even more limited-edition (only 50 were made) hand-silk-screened digipak! I suggest you cop it from me by clicking the button a couple inches down on this page.

Words by Sankofa, with special guests JON?DOE, AthenA, Ryan Officer, iCON the Mic King, Nick Sweepah, ADRU THE MISPHIT, and RhymeWise37.

Beats by El Keter, Fangface, Ognihs, Sankofa, and Dagger.

$14.00 USD (Shipping Included)

The story on "June July and August"

C'mon MySpace...

For whatever reason MySpace ain't letting me upload any more beats right now. I keep getting some crazy "file error" every time I upload something. I'm getting a headache.
