Robert Wimer was born and raised in the small town of Trenton, Mo . He is the youngest of four children. His mother, Betty Wimer, is a retired school teacher, and his father, Bob Wimer is a retired barber. Robert got his first taste of music at a very early age when he was exposed to Andrew Llyod Webber’s “Jesus Christ Superstar”.
Mr. Wimer’s involvement in music started in elementary school with the S.M. Rissler choir. Later, he picked up the saxophone and was included in the Trenton Golden Bulldogs Marching Band, but his main emphasis was in voice. Robert has been involved in all district / state choir in high school and received high marks at contest time. In college, Robert was involved in several major choral works that include, Brahms’s “Requiem”, Mozart’s “Requiem”, Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 9”, Ralph Vaughan William’s “A Sea Symphony”, and many others.
Robert attended Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, MO where he majored in music with an emphasis in vocal performance. His voice teachers has included, Clay Dawson, Jeff Nolte, Stephen Loss, Lynne Goodman, and Frank Thomas . Mr. Wimer is currently studying under the tutelage of Dr. David Benz of M.W.S.U.
Mr. Wimer has been involved in numerous solo performances, which include singing our nation’s national anthem at the Kansas City Royals on two occasions, featured soloist on “ Carols and Lullabies ”, “ Race For The Cure ”, and several others. Robert has also put out several albums ranging from classical, jazz, christian, and adult contemporary.
When Robert is not performing, he can be found at the Grundy County Jewett Norris Library , where he is the System / Network Administrator and Cataloger. Mr. Wimer is also involved in web design, computer repair, photography, video, and audio production . Robert is also the choir director at Westly United Methodist Church in Trenton, MO.
Robert Wimer is involved with the St. Joseph Community Chorus based out of St. Joseph Missouri. The chorus performs music ranging from classical to jazz.

About my accompanist, Miss Sonja Howard

I dabbled with music in high school, but I really became "hooked" on accompanying when I got to do so for the first percussion player to perform on the marimba in our district. We earned first at the district level as well as at state. Our music department was such that our school was chosen to represent Kansas in Vienna, and Austria.
At Emporia State University, I continued lessons and accompanied as well as being involved in several vocal groups. I also accompanied auditions in the theatre that included "Sweeney Todd" and "Grease". On weekends, I regularly played for weddings and churches.
Even though I teach I still find time to give private piano lessons and also perform at weddings, funerals and churches..
