Rock On Young Savior; Don't Give Up Your Hopes

About Me

My name is John Stinsman and I am an artist. I've been working professionaly for over 12 years in comics, animation, storyboards and character design.
..Currently hitting store is my latest comic book (AKA "graphic novel")-- Stormbringers! (Be sure to pick up or order a copy from your local comic shop! Heck-- ask em' to carry an extra copy or two-- or three or ten!)I provided the pencils and inks-- as well as all cover and promotional colors. You can find the official site at www.stormbringers.com
..Currently, I've decided to throw my hat back into what is known as the "creator-owned" comic arena. I had a previous comic that I created, wrote and penciled called Scalet Crush.
..This time out I've decided to revisit a project that I have been working on for a very long time-- The 13th HOUR. It has never been published before (except for a double-page spread in the Lady Pendragon ashcan-- can ya find that one!?) so it'll be making its first "public" appearance here. It's still a pretty large work in progress at this point, but I will try to update new images here as they are illustrated. (Even a preview of the first few pages-- when I get a few done, that is.)
..
..You can also find other images of my art in the "photos" section-- so please feel free to take a look (and leave a comment if you'd like!)
How I made my profile:
I used Dave & Jay's amazing myspace layout editor .

My Interests

Cick on the image below to check out my ComicSpace page!!!

I'd like to meet:

If meet someone whom I admire I'd hope them to be down to earth and realistic, humble and human.

Music:

Depends on my mood I guess. I draw to music alot, so what I need to draw can often effect what I listen to. Music taps directly into the core of our emotions and I often use it to expell or wallow in something I'm feeling or want to feel. Here are some of the bastards that move me: Death From Above 1979 (which you can listen to if you click above!), The Killers, Foo Fighters, Interpol, MXPX, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix...

Movies:

The usual "geek" fare... but I think I've watched "Fight Club" about 30 times on DVD, so I think I might like that movie just a wee bit. Some other faves include: A Clockwork Orange, Akira, Chasing Amy, Man on Fire, the LOTR Trilogy and Seven

Television:

Lost, Heroes, 24, CSI, The Shield, The Unit, Criminal Minds, House, Smallville, Supernatural, Battlestar Galactica, Entourage, Extras...

Books:

Usally anything by Bendis, Millar, Ennis, Ellis or Straczynski.

Heroes:

People with brains, guts and humilty.

My Blog

35..? Really?!?

Jeeze... I'm 35. When I was 20, 35 seemed.... old, I guess. But, I still feel 20, and I realize, that it's almost been 20 years since I graduated high school! After high school (or college, I suppose...

Why does everyone think art is FREE!?!?!

I've been freelancing (that's what it's called when you don't have a steady gig and have to keep looking for new job after new job) on and off for about six years now, and it's obvious to me that most...
