About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V3.6 !
Mike Ethan Messick turned a childhood fascination with classic country music into a hobby and, with time, a career during his years in College Station, TX. An aspiring songwriter for as long as he can remember, Messick started playing his music in public at open mikes and talent shows during his college years at Texas A&M, picking up influences and constantly writing as he went. One of his works, "The Everclear Song", became a signature song for Roger Creager (a fellow Aggie) and gave Messick a level of notoriety that helped him book gigs all over the state, playing memorable acoustic and high-energy full band shows at Texas landmarks like The Firehouse Saloon, Hurricane Harry's, McGonigel's Mucky Duck, and Adair's well before the late 2006 release of his debut CD Bootlegger's Turn. Emerging from a scene that has produced talents like his friends The Gougers, Gabe Wootton, Chad Boyd, Larry Hooper, and many others, Messick is set to take his blend of Americana, folk, roots rock, and classic country back on the road.UPDATE: Starting with Summer of 2007, MEM has relocated to Austin, TX. Still writing, still playing, and hoping to step up his schedule in the near future. Other recent developments include a new Gibson Les Paul (definitely time to put a band together again), songs covered on new projects by Big John Mills and Josh Langston, and Roger Creager occasionally throwing Messick's "Kings Of Juarez" into his live shows. The CD is also available now at Waterloo Records in Austin and Evolution Records in Baytown, TX.--------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------- Catch (or better yet request) MEM's music on the following radio stations: LoneStarFM 107.3/92.5 (Brazos Valley), KORA 98.3 (Bryan/College Station), Aggie 96 (College Station), RadioFreeTexas.org, KEOS 89.1 (Bryan), and hopefully more to come. The CD is available at LoneStarMusic.com and at Hasting's in Bryan, College Station, and San Marcos.

The club

Thank you Dr.

If it sounds like a cliche, then it's just because it's been worth repeating for years: Martin Luther King Jr. changed the world, and I'm glad we've got this day to honor his memory. Very few in histo...

My favorite music in 2007

2007 was a big year for me.  My own CD rolled off the press in late 2006, so I spent a big chunk of '07 trying to convince various folks that my CD was something worth having and listening to.&nb...
