I have no idea what to write about myself... Maybe if I wax philosophical about some of my personal tenets:I believe that friends are the most important thing in a person's life. I am incredibly fortunate to have a wonderful core of friends, even though we are scattered throughout this country and the world. A few live right here in Austin, which is the only reason I have any sanity whatsoever. I love my friends. They are what make life beautiful and worth living.I believe that computers will be the downfall of civilization. The more wired and in touch we are, the more we separate ourselves from each other. When ws the last time you received a hand written letter from a friend? Or even an email that wasn't forwarded? We may have a pen pal in Argentina or Malaysia, but how many of us know our neighbors' names? I will admit that I don't know the guy who lives to the right of me. I know the people to the left, and all the folks across the street, but I have no idea what my neighbor-to-the-right's name is. All I know is that he drives an amazing old Buick. I have lived in my house for 4 1/2 years, and he moved in about 3 years ago...I do, however, believe that travel is vital. We will never understand our world in it's entirity, but the more we can see and experience it, the closer we become to full awareness. Also, the more one travels, the more likely (s)he will be more tolerant of others' idiosyncrasies.I think that religion is just another way in which people delude themselves. Most religions around the world all say the same thing and believe in the same principles. They just have different names for whatever it is that they are preaching. I'm not saying that it's a bad thing to be Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindi, Navajo, Voodoo, Xenu, right-handed, left-handed, Vulcan, Aboriginal, blue, orange, Klingon, Mystic, etc, I just want people to start realizing that "religion" is just a human invention. Faith is different. It is not bound by the rules and creeds by which religion must follow.I guess there's a bit about me.Oh yeah, and this kicks ass:
