And so begins another chapter...

About Me

Here is how my life has been shaping up since i have come back to NZ. I have set up a company called Millar Music Management so i can contract myself out for various work. i am currently owner of, and running a recording and rehearsal studio in Auckland. At the moment for fun i jam with my mates, act on local TV shows, ride my motorbike, soccer, watch dvds or listen to music. Life is pretty full on. Previous to this......I have just gotten back from a hiatus on the Sunshine coast in Queensland where I worked at a drive-thru liquor store in Noosa for the three months leading. Good money, meeting heaps of people and enabling me to live in the sunshine. This is good for now but... I moved back to NZ on March 25th. Not sure what I will do but there are a few options on the cards. I have had fun here on the coast and had a chance to get my head together. I will keep you posted about my next adventure but still...None of this page is really relevant at the moment. My younger brother passed away from cancer in late 2007 and i moved to Australia to be by his side during his final time on this earth. I will be moving here to live with his wife and to try and rebuild my life. I have had a great time in the music industry but it is time for a new chapter. On a happier note - i met a shining bright light during my dark hour and she has been so amazing. That you for everything Nicoleen. My life has just drastically changed so keep an eye on here for my next adventure... but in the meantime here is a little about my past.I was born and raised for six years in Whangarei, NZ then moved to Australia where I lived in Townsville, Gympie, Proserpine and then headed back to NZ to live in Waipu, Ruakaka, Whangarei.I went to university at Waikato University and graduated after four years of study with a bachelor of Management Studies majoring in Communication - Marketing and PR. I re-found my passion for music while at uni. From Performance to Management. Anything music related. I have tried it all and found where i fit in this industry. I briefly moved to Wellington. The highlight of that was leaving.I am a music junkie who has classisc bogan-like taste in music. I especially love NIN, Tool, APC, Pantera, Soundgarden, Kyuss and my favourite kiwi band is Slipping Tongue www.myspace.com/slippingtongue I am their band manager and they are the latest signing to our label.I worked (up until October 6th, 2007) as Marketing Manager, Business Manager, and a whole lot more, for Intergalactic Records www.intergalacticrecords.com in Auckland, NZ. I also ran the World Battle of the Bands. www.worldbattleofthebands.comHere is me being interviewed on Alt TV about WBOBIGR have a band from Las Vegas signed to our label they are Jaggedy Ann www.myspace.com/jaggedyann They are freakin cool.I used to manage Stardrunk, Angelsound and NZ's biggest and best metal act 8FT Sativa who are also on our label www.8footsativa.comLast year I went to Hong Kong where we held the world final of WBOB - details on website - and Manila where we had some R&R and awards show for NU107. A special hello to the guys from Queso and Irene for showing their hospitality and friendship.I am in Australia now due to a family crisis.

My Interests

Music. Opening my mind to new things and adventures and music. I also enjoy lots of music and the odd bourbon. I love to hoon around on my motorbike as well when the weather is fine.I just got back from Australia where I hung out at my brothers at the end of my fourth New Zealand tour. This one was with Jaggedy Ann. They got to hang out with me in Melbourne and the sunshine coast. The lucky bastards. There were two gigs in oz - one in Melbourne and one in Brisbane. These girls are truly awesome and they rock out hard. I love them all dearly and thank them for making my birthday special. Although I will never understand how it takes so long for them to get ready. But they have great hearts. Here are pics from the tourHere is a video from Jaggedy Ann who are signed to the label i help run...

Television:

I'm a big kiwi/oz soap opera fan. Home and Away and Shortland Street. I also enjoy watching Gilmour Girls (but this can be done with the volume down). Also Boston Legal, Survivor, South Park, Family Guy, Simpsons, Two and a half Guys, and I can't get enough of Trailer Park Boys. Yes, I watch too much TV. What can I say - I am hooked on Pop Culture. Here is Slipping Tongue being interviewed on ALT TV

Books:

I do read some books but i get most of my inspiration from lyrics. For example, here are some Tool lyrics...I've been crawling on my belly Clearing out what could've been. I've been wallowing in my own chaotic And insecure delusions.I wanna feel the change consume me, Feel the outside turning in. I wanna feel the metamorphosis and Cleansing I've endured withinMy shadow Change is coming. Now is my time. Listen to my muscle memory. Contemplate what I've been clinging to. Forty-six and two ahead of me.Think for yourself. Question authority. Throughout human history as our species has faced the frightening, terrorizing fact that we do not know who we are or where we are going in this ocean of chance, it has been the authorities, the political, the religious, the educational authorities who attempted to comfort us by giving us order, rules, regulations, informing, forming in our minds their view of reality. To think for yourself you must question authority and learn how to put yourself in a state of vulnerable, open mindedness, chaotic, confused vulnerability to inform yourself.

Heroes:

Maynard, Trent Reznor, Ozzy, Chris Cornell, Layne Staley/Jerry Cantrell, Pink Floyd. My Cat Pantera cos he is my mate. My Cat Pantera
