BIOGRAPHY: ENGLISH: Pink Lizard represents one of the most promising acts on the Italian rock scene. Started in 2002 by guitarist Mauro Rosina and drummer Nico Cabròn, the Paduan band has already reached high goals in the first five years of its musical career. Thanks to a constant evolution in style that ranges from pop punk influences (Green Day, MxPx, etc.) to the classic hard rock that characterized their debuts (Guns N’ Roses, Van Halen, Motley Crue, etc.), they have been able to broaden their musical scope beyond the limits of the hard rock scene. Guitarist Mauro, one of the most talented songwriters in Italian underground rock, plays engaging riffs which, accompanied by singer Dave Falciglia’s skilled vocals and Nico’s accurate and leaderesque drumming, make up the group’s strong points. These, combined with catchy melody lines and thought-out verses, have allowed the Paduan quartet to create a fresh and distinguishing sound that sets them apart as one of the most interesting bands on the national panorama.
Pink Lizard released their first self-titled demo in March 2003 offering a sound that combined American mainstream melodic metal and sleazy rock, a sure-fire formula given the group’s evident technical skills. It was met with immediate critical acclaim as well as underground public appreciation. The demo also received excellent reviews in international webzines such as Slam, Rock Shock, Sleazegrinder, Hard Sounds, among others, as well as in prominent national rock magazines such as Metal Hammer, Flash, Rock Hard, etc. The songs released on the album were played on important, independent Italian radio circuits (Rock Fm, Radio Sherwood) and many others all over the world (Spain, US, Argentina, etc.). In 2004, Pink Lizard embarked on its first tour which saw them perform on northern Italian stages, participating in prestigious festivals such as the Mascara Massacre (ok, etc.) and sharing the stage with other important European rock bands like Hybrid Children and Private Line.
In May 2005, Pink Lizard released Rock N’ Roll Injection, their second demo featuring four new tracks that successfully illustrated the band’s constant evolution in the effort to reach their own, original sound. For this significant milestone, Ty Tabor, guitarist for King’s X (one of the most influential bands during the 90s), was called in for mastering. Critics again praised the work, which received first-rate reviews in webzines as well as renowned national magazines among which Metal Maniac voted the work “demo of the monthâ€. In this way, Pink Lizard obtained the inclusion of their songs in significant compilations such as Akompilation, Metal Demons, etc, independent radio spots around the world, local radio interviews, and an appearance on Radio Veneto 1. In the tour following the release of their second demo, the band had the opportunity perform throughout Italy in some of the most prominent motorcycle plenums of the northeast and other festivals such as the Venice Rock Festival, Glamattakk, among others. They shared the stage with historic hard rock groups like Love/Hate and Bang Tango and other current artists from the European rock scene such as Crucified Barabara, Bloodpit, etc.
After a year and a half marked with hard work and stylistic research as well as professional changes that welcomed the entrance of singer Dave Falciglia, in 2008, Pink Lizard again goes public with a more competitive make-up and a renovated, more original sound. After signing with Secondo Avvento Produzioni, Pink Lizard has recently finalized the recordings on their debut album which will be released in upcoming months.

La band padovana, fondata nel 2002 dal chitarrista Mauro Rosina e dal batterista Nico Cabròn, nei primi cinque anni di attività ha già tagliato traguardi importanti riuscendo ad allargare il proprio bacino di utenza al di là dei ristretti confini della scena hard rock, grazie soprattutto ad una costante evoluzione stilistica che li ha visti affiancare influenze più pop punk (Green Day, MxPx, ecc) alla tradizionale matrice hard rock degli esordi (Guns N’ Roses, Van Halen, Motley Crue ecc.); gli accattivanti riff del chitarrista Mauro, uno dei compositori più talentuosi del panorama rock underground italiano, uniti alle doti canore del cantante Dave Falciglia ed al drumming preciso e diretto del batterista Nico, sono i punti di forza che, abbinati a ritornelli dalle melodie di facile presa e cori più elaborati, hanno permesso al quartetto patavino di creare un sound fresco e peculiare che li rende una delle band più interessanti del panorama nazionale.
Nel Marzo 2003 i Pink Lizard pubblicano il loro primo demo CD “Pink Lizardâ€, che attira immediatamente le attenzioni della critica specializzata e del pubblico underground, proponendo un suono a cavallo tra il metal melodico americano più radiofonico e lo sleazy rock più ammiccante. Formula di sicuro impatto, grazie anche alle evidenti qualità tecniche del quartetto.
Il demo riceve subito ottime recensioni nelle webzines di tutto il mondo (Slam, Rock Shock, Rock And A Hard Place, Sleazegrinder, Hard Sounds e moltissimi altri) e nei principali mensili rock nazionali (Metal Hammer, Flash, Rock Hard, Metal Shock, ecc).
I brani contenuti nel cd vengono inseriti nella playlist di importati radio del circuito indipendente italiano (Rock FM, Radio Sherwood, ecc) e numerose altre in giro per il mondo (Spagna, Stati Uniti, Argentina, ecc).
Nel corso del 2004 i Pink Lizard si imbarcano nel primo proprio tour che li vedrà esibirsi sui palchi del nord Italia, partecipare ad importanti festival (Slam Summer Festival, Mascara Massacre, Festival del Primo Maggio a Padova, ecc.) e a dividere il palco con importanti band della scena rock europea come Hybrid Children e Private Line.
Nel Maggio 2005 i Pink Lizard danno alle stampe il secondo demo “Rock N’ Roll Injectionâ€, contenente 4 nuovi brani che ben fotografano la costante evoluzione della band, sempre alla ricerca di un proprio personale sound; per dare il giusto valore aggiunto, ad occuparsi del mastering viene chiamato Ty Tabor, già chitarrista dei King’s X, una delle band più influenti degli anni ’90.
Anche questa volta la critica accoglie bene il lavoro che ottiene subito ottime recensioni nelle webzine di tutto il mondo e apparizioni sulle più importanti riviste nazionali di settore tra le quali Metal Maniac che elegge il lavoro demo del mese.
I Pink Lizard guadagnano così l’inserimento dei brani in alcune importanti compilation (Akompilation, Metal Demons, ecc.), passaggi nelle radio indipendenti in giro per il mondo, interviste nelle radio locali e uno speciale nell’emittente regionale Radio Veneto 1.
Nel tour successivo alla pubblicazione del secondo demo la band ha la possibilità di esibirsi in tutta Italia, in alcuni dei principali motoraduni del nord-est e in altri importanti festival (Venice Rock Festival, Glamattakk, e molti altri.), dividendo il palco con gruppi storici del panorama hard rock (Love/Hate, Bang Tango ecc.) e con realtà importanti dell’odierna scena rock europea (Crucified Barbara, Bloodpit e molti altri).
Nel 2008, dopo un anno e mezzo segnato da un duro lavoro di ricerca stilistica e da alcuni cambi di formazione che vedono l’ingresso del cantante Dave Falciglia, i Pink Lizard si ripropongono al pubblico forti di una formazione più competitiva e con un sound rinnovato e più peculiare.
Dopo aver raggiunto un accordo con la Secondo Avvento Produzioni, i Pink Lizard hanno recentemente ultimato le registrazioni del loro album di debutto che vedrà la propria pubblicazione nei prossimi mesi.
