News Blog from Brian;
So here we all are, 2007, what will it bring? Will the alcohol fuelled promises we made on December 31st 2006 be kept and followed religiously or are they already a now sober memory? Have your 'I'll never drink again' pledges disappeared with the first hair of the dog medicinal remedy? Hey we're only human, oh and by the Happy New Year to all of you!
What we have been aware of within the band is the continual loyalty and unwavering support for all things DH. We do read your mail and under the cover of darkness with full camouflage face paint flick through your forum posts! It always helps to know that people across the globe both fans of old and new find what we do interesting. With this in mind we will attempt to keep you more abreast of what we are up to with a kind of journal come diary that we promise (there's that word again!) to update on a regular basis, starting with a brief resume of where we are at with errm 'stuff'……………
The new album has been a learning curve for all of us, with Karl living more than a 20 minute bus ride away it was decided early on that he would prepare his parts in the hot Californian sun while the rest of us share our cold and flu symptoms in good old (damp) Blighty. After many hours split between Nick's Abbz' and my home studios we finally had some demos that Karl could work on in the hot Californian sunshine (not that we are envious you understand as we too enjoyed some glorious sunshine……..it was a Tuesday!!!) so began the passing of files down the internet. Yes we liked that drum fill no Karl didn't like that middle 8 !
Not until we made our base at a studio in the quiet and picturesque countryside of Evesham overlooking Stella McCartney's modest two up two down residence were we able to see the jigsaw start to take shape with our intrepid engineer Shirt, who has added the magic dust to our endeavors and is a source of much guidance and generally a really nice bloke. The recording and mixing should be completed by the middle of February.
In the mean time our friends at Banned-produxions have been approached to film some of the final days of recording which if all goes well you will get to see as soon as. We are now in discussions about a promo (not porno) video for one of the new tracks, more when we have decided what toon to expose to the magic of vision!
As you can see from the gig guide we have now started to commit to live dates more should be added as soon as. We are all excited about the new album and can't wait to air the new songs out on the road.
Well that's about where we are at
Speak soon Brian.

Diamond Head are making excellent progress in recording what could prove to be their best album ever. With a working title of, 'What's In Your Head?', the band are working hard to produce a powerful but varied collection of songs, as they always have done.
Songs include, 'This Planet and Me' (which is an immediate favourite), 'Nothing to Lose' (an hypnotic track with great lyrics from Nick), and the mighty, 'Reign Supreme' (which the heaviest track Diamond Head have recorded since, 'Am I Evil?').
Karl has recorded all the drums at his home studio in LA. The neighbours called in the cops because of the noise - anyone who has heard Karl play will know that he is one of the most powerful drummers in the world!
Dave Nicholls is the recording engineer and producer with Brian. He has recently recorded the Slipknot live album, and has also worked with The Wildhearts. He is on tour with Stonesour during the next few months, so recording with DH starts again in January 2007.
Brian and Nick have spent months writing these songs and all you fans will be thrilled with the results. We believe this will be the album DH have always threatened to make. What 'All Will Be Revealed' promises, 'What's In Your Head?' delivers - and then some!

DIAMOND HEAD - 'To The Devil His Due' (SMADVD260X)
Release Date: 21st August 2006
Following hot on the heels of the 'It's Electric' album (SMACD941) released in June comes 'To The Devil His Due', a live DVD recorded at The Astoria London in November 2005.
As part of the NWOBHM that emerged in the early '80s, the Diamond Head brand of metal led Sounds metal editor Geoff Barton to claim that 'there are more good riffs in your average single Diamond Head song than there are in the first four Black Sabbath albums'.
He's not alone. Lars Ulrich covered a host of Diamond Head numbers including 'Am I Evil?, 'It's Electric and 'Helpless' (all of which feature on the DVD), and both his band Metallica along with Megadeth have famously cited the band as an important early influence.
This year the band has started to rattle people's cages again with the combination of the live shows, album release, and such profile raisers as having tracks in both the cult metal movie 'A Headbangers Journey', and also on the 'Songs That Drove Metallica' album (which had 5 Diamond Head tracks) proving that they are indeed back in business. With Kerrang! writer Dom Lawson describing the band as "one of the greatest British heavy metal bands of all time criminally underrated, with a staggering catalogue of magnificent, shit-kicking anthems", and concluding that "There has never been a better time to reassess this remarkable band", it's time to start paying attention to Diamond Head all over again.
This show captures the resurrected band storming through all the favorites including 'The Prince', 'Sucking My Love' and 'Lightning To The Nations'.
Extra DVD features: In the studio footage making new album - "All Will Be Revealed" & Full interview with the band.

Biography
-"Brian and Duncan first started writing music together in early 1976 with Brian on cheap fuzz guitar and Duncan on Biscuit tins. Brian had a poster of an album by Phil Manzanera called Diamond Head that was released in 1975 and he thought "that would be a good name for the band", but they needed a singer and auditioned several school chums until someone mentioned they had heard Sean Harris singing Be Bop a Lu La on a coach and so Brian asked Sean to try out and after one song he was asked to join. Colin Kimberley, an friend
-The first demo tape was cut in 1978 in a studio in Kidderminster. This was used to get gigs, and a copy was sent to Geoff Barton at Sounds, who was suitably impressed and put them on his play list, and arranged an interview. Continual gigging set them in good stead. This saw them opening for the likes of ACDC and Iron Maiden.
At the beginning of 1980, the band formed 'Diamond Head Music' as a means to putting out their own self financed material. Their first single was 'Shoot Out The Lights' backed with 'Helpless' on Happy Face Music.
-2004 heralded a landmark in Diamond Head history as they embarked on a new phase with new singer Nick Tart. The year saw them rehearse and write new material as a revitalised band, and record a new album with Nick, 'All Will Be Revealed'. The end of the year saw them perform their first gig infront of an invitation only crowd at JBs in Dudley. Harking back to the early days and th e'do it yourself' attitude, 1000 self financed copies of their new album were pressed. These quickly sold out at gigs and via their website.
In February 2005, Diamond Head embarked on a massive European tour supporting Megadeth which turned out to be a massive success for the band, impressing long standing fans and picking up younger ones along the way." -- diamond-head.net
