Tilo The GodLion is a cutting edge rapper, songwriter and producer who first emerged on to the New York rap scene in early 90s. A product of his environment, he holds nothing back on his lyrical content regarding the raw reality of the life he has experienced.
Abandoned by his mother in Queens, NY at only 3 days old and then lost his father to the federal penitentiary at the age of 8.
As a teen, Tilo followed the lead of his older friends and began hustling the Cocaine Crack trade. A successful partnership dissolved due to a disagreement between Tilo and his supplier, which pushed Tilo to escalate his distribution trafficking into NYC. Tilo quickly constructed a street dynasty of guns, violence and drug dealing in the ruthless boulevards of Queens, NY.
Tilos empire was notorious for their advanced tactical training and NYPD, FBI and DEA counter surveillance. Yet, Tilo flipped the script at the height of his street commerce and relocated to Miami to begin a legitimate corporate empire within the music industry.
Tilo gained a street buzz for his originality and deftness as a bilingual performer who can not only spit rhymes in both Spanish and English but also can seemlessly switch the freestyle flow between languages without skipping a beat.
Under the tutelage of sound engineer, Stan Jones, Tilo began recording and swiftly utilized his underworld strategizing, organizing, and negotiating savvy and set his entrepreneurial wheels in motion with the creation of The God Lion Entertainment, LLC (TGL), as well as, the formation of LIONIZED, a subdivision debuting TGLs design line of sexy beach, club and street gear.
Tilos unceasing dedication paved the way for the release of TGLs debut underground album, "Revelation XII". Solely written and produced by Tilo, these tracks of straightforward lyrics, rough beats and pumping baselines penetrated the street mix tape market, marking the official launch of his professional career.
Blending the East Coast and West coast vibe with the South sound to his music, Tilo released his second album The GodLion, which thru self-promotion pierced the Internet single sales market and legitimized TGL in the music industry with 10,000 units sold.
Audiences go wild for Tilos stage presence and spitting prowess because he never leaves a stage without blowing it up. He is the recipient of numerous MC awards but is most proud of receiving the prestigious Miamis Mayor Award for Hip-Hop Rap Battles. Tilo is an active grassroots volunteer and donates his time and talent to various organizations that seek to uplift, motivate and unite the urban community. Being a mentor he has spoken to Miami and Tampa students about avoiding gang violence, the importance of staying in school and the dangers of drug use, as well as, participated in an event at the Roland Park Middle (Alternative) School in NY about AIDS Awareness.
Tilos determination, drive and good fortune has led to his establishing various industry associations and networking connections. With the guidance of one of Floridas most highly respected promoter REGIS, Tilo performed at The Playboy party May 2005 Showcase hosted by MTV's DJ Scribble. Tilos crowd moving performance at this event led to his off the cuff encore at the Playboy after party held at Club Floyds later that evening. As result of his mind-blowing performance at this MTV party, they scheduled Tilo to headline with local Orlando rappers at an outdoor July 2005 concert sponsored by Low riders, Americas premier Hydraulics Company,
Tilo has been blessed to have the opportunity to refine his stage choreography, spitting technique and dexterity while performing at various national venues fiercely holding his own among musical giants.
Tilos affiliation with the highly respected promoter and publicist, Travis Dixon ( a.k.a BIG T) , led to his fulfillment of a dream of a lifetime introduction to the up and coming rapper Curtis Young a.k.a. Hood Surgeon and his father, Tilos musical inspiration, the legendary Hip-Hop producing phenomenon Dr. Dre and his Aftermath family.
