Short-e became a popular DJ, VJ and Producer through years of hard work and determination. It all started when he was 14 years old when he somehow remarkably began making mix tapes with his Technics dual cassette player. Short-e soon after received his first set of turntables and was hired to DJ his High School's homecoming dance...the rest as we say is history!Erik "Short-e" Mishiyev, a New Yorker, made the same decision his father made years earlier, he would venture away from his home on a quest for grander opportunities. After graduating High School in 1996, Short-e headed to Tampa, FL, where he quickly became an elite force in the nightlife and TV scene. In the last 10 years, Short-e has performed and promoted events for numerous hot spots, while taking on the role of the ultimate Entertainment Entrepreneur. Short-e's excellent taste and passion for music are heard in his DJ sets and various mixing styles. There are few DJ's that can produce the excitement that Short-e does in the club, which is what makes him such a hot asset for promoters and club owners. You can feel the energy and love he has for the music as soon as he steps in the DJ booth. As he switches from record to record the crowd feeds off his intensity and vibe. Though his first love is Hip Hop, Short-e's record selection ranges from all different types of genres, which helps define him as a diverse artist. His hosting skills are another great addition to his repertoire... Short-e's presence alone helps to create a sexy feel good atmosphere. With continued success in the nightlife industry, doors to other opportunities quickly opened... Stars and celebrities would later embrace Short-e’s creativity by supporting his television show (The Short-e Show) which features today's hottest music videos, exclusive celebirty interviews and behind the scenes footage from the red carpet and beyond. Short-e also gained national exposure when T-Mobile, the cell phone giant, chose him to star in a national internal video campaign which highlights "A Day In The Life Of Short-e" using his Sidekick cell phone!Short-e has further expanded his music outreach when he founded his own Record label called Hot4Eva' and produced his first artist, V.S. (Verbal Science) with his debut album, “In Da Lab†, which is scheduled to drop later this year. The Album delivers 14 breath-taking revolutionary tracks which offers a fresh new alternative to today's Hip Hop sound. Short-e & Verbal Science performed the smash single “Whatchu Ridin On?†at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. The performance was praised by local media and the track went onto win local radio competitions. The music video for the track includes cameos by Paul Wall, Mike Jones, T-Pain, Tony Yayo & Jacob the Jeweler. In 2007, "Whatchu Ridin On?" advanced to the FINALS in a NATIONAL on-line music video contest which was sponsored by Sony/BMG and Clear Channel Radio.On another note, when it comes to the community, Short-e has always known to be involved someway and somehow. He enjoys donating his time and talents to help non-profit organizations such as Everyone's Youth United, which helps inner city youth and those in need. Short-e serves on the steering committee and is honored to judge the highly acclaimed Bay Area Idol annual talent showcase.After dominating the Tampa market, Short-e has made his move back to the New York City area where he performs as a special guest DJ at various NYC Hot Spots. He has also joined Power 105.1FM & Bad Boy Records, where he is called upon to assists in the promotions department. Furthermore, Short-e has launched his own TV show on the Manhattan Neighborhood Network and maintains a successful YouTube page which has received well over 5 million video views! By utilizing his skills, resources, talents and experience, Short-e will surely remain creative and productive for years to come.
