About Me

I live with one foot grounded in pragmatic reality, and the other planted in the subconscious, but my passion runs consistent throughout. My biggest challenge coalescing the two, turning my dreams into something tangible.

I'm a software developer for a large-type website you might have heard of, and a massive geek in disguise.

I'm also a part-time creative type, having always played in a few bands and producing here and there. One of my solo projects can be heard at myspace.com/rvogelmusic .

And NO, that's not me viewing your profile. I keep getting e-mails asking about this and the bottom line is that Profile Trackers are useless beyond an IP Address. The trackers that show you "who" viewed your profile provide inaccurate friend IDs.

My Interests

anime, photography, suomirokki, reading, manga, writing music, singing, feudal-era japanese culture, technology, various forms of geekery, glam/sleaze rock, detailed hair, MAC makeup, champagne, cars, sushi, firearms, wasting away on the internet, antique laboratory equipment, lighting, anything facilitating my fetish for accoutrements

I'd like to meet:

Nikola Tesla, Albert Einstein, Carl McCoy

Aliens vs. Predator II

My friend Haff posted the new (and R rated) trailer in his blog, and while it looks better than the first AvP, I'm still on the fence.  They have a female role forced into the strong lead again, ...

The Sun Goes To Bed Early

Last night I left work around 7:30pm, and on the drive home I noticed that it was the first day in some months that the sky was not still fully lit.  Summer seemed so short, but it appears it's a...

Together We Will Live Forever

I finally saw "The Fountain" the other night and am savoring still the lingering traces of thoughts and feelings it stirred.  It moved me on many levels for a number of reasons - from a philosoph...

Bathing Over-Rated? I think not.

Below is an article written by what we can safely call a "smelly hippie".  But before you read this, I'd just like to point out that I have put a lot of thought into the "nature vs nurture" issue...

Marie Antoinette (or: "May I have those two hours back, please?")

I've been watching a lot of movies lately, and the other night after wandering aimlessly in Blockbuster for 15 minutes, Marie Antoinette was the only thing on the shelf that stood out in any form.&nbs...
