DUKE MUSHROOM PRESENTS: 1st in "2 Harlem" Series!

About Me

Bole is the entry/exit point for Ethiopia, and Harlem is the entry/exit place for African music in America. This record is DUKE MUSHROOM's concept of "ASHAGRE" -Building the bridge between those worlds... Creating a space where they can both exist without musically or culturally dilluting either one.++++++++++++++++This project began as a Rhythm, a drumbeat, that started at the weekly gathering of their Friend Vincent's French-Morroccan-Senagalese restaurant, "L'Orange Bleue", with DUKE and friends playing drums over DJ Pirrot's Saturday night World Beat Sessions.+++++++++++++++From there it was obvious, take DUKE's Musical Vision, add The Beautiful Raw voice of TIGIST SHIBABAW, blend in MAKI's Amheric ryming style and revisit traditional Ethiopian song themes while mixing with all our current influences and creative friends -creating a sound we titled the, "WORLD FLOW"...+++++++++++++++Bole2Harlem is a party, a celebration, our gift back to Ethiopia.+++++++++++++++The World can Flow as One.. Music is the Frontier to pave the way.+++++++++++++++Album is available from itunes or Amazon.com..
