.. CDBABY LINK for BRICKHOUSE: Walk of Shame --
The foundation for Brickhouse was laid in Malmö around 1997 by Magnus Andersson, who apart from singing and playing guitar also writes the songs for the band. His deep fondness of blues and soul as well as good traditional rock ´n´ roll has a strong impact on his own material. This intense singer is the firm keeper of Brickhouse whose other talents are a strong-minded bunch of musicians per excellence! Pelle Jernryd on guitar, Magnus Nörrenberg on organ, Micke Nilsson on bass and Pontus Snibb on drums are no strangers to the musical neighborhood where the Brickhouse stands. This powerful band is versatile enough to manage anything from explosive 70´s rock to soft ballads with a hint of country.
To add that extra touch to it all, Brickhouse is adorned by the two lovely chorus ladies Kajsa Eldh and Malin Ekstrand , whose beautiful voices pours out to join lead singers fiery approach, like melting honey on a hot piece of bread!
When you listening to their CD Walk Of Shame as well as watching them live you realize theyre no copy cats, no pale imitators of former idols - just musical messengers of mouthwatering heart rending rock music!
One steamy hot nights at their regular Bakfickan in Malmö, watching them perform the words of Archimedes came to mind: ´Give me but a firm spot to stand and I will move the earth´. This passionate group takes on its mission with gusto: to move the earth - to reach out for the hearts of anyone listening, stir them up and have a good time while doing it.

Excerpt from Swedish press reviews:
What a thrill it is to listen to Magnus Andersson, a singer as brilliant as he is intense, with a band that suits him so well and a catalogue of songs that constantly keep you on your toes. You can compare him to Chris Robinson, Steve Marriott and Paul Rodgers, but Magnus is a unique voice. Hes not a bag lady who picks up what others left behind, and hes good not only for being Swedish.
Håkan Engström, Sydsvenskan 2006-04-19
Call it an overstatement, but Brickhouse could very well be the perfect summary of Rolling Stones complete career, including the stuff they havent done yet. Here you find if only in small breaks most of the time the whole period from the early 60s up until this day, and still it never feels elaborate.
I can imagine that hearing this band live would rock most of your body parts off.
Magnus Sjöberg, Groove 3, 2006
It was a versatile and experienced group of Malmoe musicians who built this temple for worshippers of the classic labels from the 60s and 70s. Magnus Andersson song writer, singer and guitar player put together a bunch of like-minded friends with a true feeling for the rock, blues and soul from Atlantic and Stax. Still their music feels very contemporary. These guys know how to swim without drowning in the sea of tradition.
Göran Holmquist, Helsingborgs Dagblad 2006-04-28
The members of Brickhouse are bearers of a hard-wearing tradition that will never ever feel out of place. Not as long as there are suppliers like Brickhouse.
Björn Bostrand, Länstidningen Östersund 2006-05-06
Not many bands master the art of playing genuinely raw rock & roll and root blues. The Swedish band Brickhouse, with lead singer Magnus Andersson, is one of the chosen few. Their album Walk of Shame has a downright heavy beat that makes you think of the great American groups from the early 70s.
Björn G Stenberg, Uppsala Nya Tidning
Hearing Magnus Anderssons awesome blues voice, accompanied by a single guitar, gives me the shivers. If youre planning a road trip this summer, whatever you do, dont forget to bring Walk of Shame. With Brickhouse on the car stereo I guarantee that the Swedish summer landscape will appear more beautiful than ever.

Its not difficult to hear that Brickhouse has been raised in the American tradition, somewhere in the neighbourhood of boogie, hard rock, soul and country. This is a mix so out of date that it becomes timeless. The album glows with analogue warmth and with small pieces of Hammond organ and guitars with just the right amount of muscle power the playing becomes genuine and mature. Particular with the female background vocals. You can also hear great quality in the writing of the songs. The heavy Soul Sister and the hard rocking You really get stuck in your head.

Excerpt from Japanese press reviews:
You will be impressed by this authentic rock, delivered by musicians that share the passion, not the surroundings, of American southern rock. You will also share this passion, not only because of the soulful voice and the laid back stile of the band, but also because of the back ground vocals, the slide guitar and the Hammond organ. Impressive! It never turns out to be ironic ore sarcastic, and from the bottom of my heart I salute this “Swedish Black Crowe’sâ€.
Tomoo Yamaguchi, CD-journal
Brickhouse perfectly manage to reproduce both the powerful rock sound and the unaffected, typical southern rock idiom. Pontus Snibb´s flexible and unconstrained way of playing the drums is to the point and very cool, and the sound of his snare drum is superb.
Ken Kitano, Rythm/Drum Magazine
Orthodox American rock from Sweden! Melodies with pop quality that will work well in Japan.
Bass Magazine
The distinct guitars, the organ and the back ground vocals in between make us sure that we feel the passion and yearning from the 70´s southern rock!
Masahito Funabiki, Strange Days
Unaffected solid blues is the foundation with is surrounded by Hammond and soulful vocals, and all this result in a authentic American blues sound. On top of this “macho music†however, there is catchy pop melodies, characteristic for Scandinavian music!
