Changes--Folk Noir Duo

About Me

R.N. Taylor and Nicholas Tesluk are first cousins, both born in Chicago, Illinois. They formed Changes in 1969 and performed in coffee houses and university halls for about six years before they both went their separate ways each starting a family. In 1995 Michael Moynihan of Blood Axis and Storm Records rediscovered their songs and along with Willi Stasch of Cthulhu Records in Germany co-produced an album of Changes songs entitled "Fire of Life". The album sold very well, especially in Europe, prompting Robert and Nicholas to return to the studio to record another studio album which was released in 2004 entitled "Orphan in the Storm".In 2003 Changes was invited to Germany to perform at the Wave-Gotik-Treffen and this was their first live performance together in almost thirty years! They've since returned to Europe for the Flammenzauber Festival in Heldrungen, Germany in 2004 with a side trip to perform in Vienna. In 2005 they performed with Blood Axis in New York City in March, and with Waldteufel in Portland, Oregon in August. In November of the same year they had a European tour entitled "The Men Among the Ruins Tour" where they performed in Sintra, Portugal with Andrew King; Antwerp; Vienna; Budapest with The Moon and the Nightspirit; Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russia with Allerseelen, in a period of fourteen days (to read a tour diary and see photographs of this tour, please go to the Changes website at http://www.nmia.com/~thermite).Their newest studio release, entitled "A Ripple in Time" was released on October 31, 2006 as an LP. It is being distributed in the States by TESCO, US (and now also on the Changes website) and in Europe by Steinklang Records, TESCO, Germany and many other European distributors. On July 17, 2007, HauRuck! released an LP of Legends! "Legends" is a six-part pan-European ballad originally released by Taproot Productions in 1998. In this new LP release, musical interludes that had been originally composed but not included in the CD release have been added. Robert Ferbrache (Absinthe Studio) enhanced the sound of the recording with a fine ambiance that gives the album a timeless quality. The graphics of the album, though similar to the earlier release, were completely revised. HauRuck!, as usual, did excellent production work! The album is presently available from HauRuck! (www.hauruck.org) and will soon be available from other distributors worldwide.I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4Masthead Banner Made with MyBannerMaker.com!
